Even if we don't go shopping there, them triggering a few moves is good. Most clubs have to wait until the big boys starting making moves. It usually has a domino effect. If Trippiers move to us goes ahead (unbelievable signing for club of our current stature) it will trigger Atletico needing to sign. This is how the market works, the more movement the better for us because it will mean more clubs open to suggestion in order to meet their own priorities.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59855179 Everton signing number 2 imminent! I hope there is a plan in place. We need players.
He looked useful when I've watched Rangers. Although the lad at Aberdeen might be better again as right backs go. It won't all just trigger immediately. Some clubs will manage to get it done quick, others will take longer. Complicated by who you are buying from etc. They might be willing to sell but want the replacement done etc. We just have to patient. The main thing is we do get players this window and get the right players most importantly. 3 or 4 of Trippiers standard transforms a team.
Yes he’s not a bad signing for 10m. Im patient. I just hope they have a plan. Can’t wait for the first signing.
The time to start getting worried is at least two weeks away. We can put in as many bids as we like but we can't force teams to sell or players to sign. Like Pouchy said, a lot will depend on clubs getting replacements. These days very few players will rush to sign at the first opportunity as a lot of transfer bids and offers come in once it is clear a player is moving. They are want to see exactly what is on the table and how many offers there are. What we need to see is a vast improvement on the last regime and be willing to compromise to get those players in. We've lost too many players in the past because the club wouldn't improve offers, often when it only involved a small percentage increase to get the player in.
Oh I know. Most of our signings will be over the top prices anyways and we will just have to accept that for a while. It would have been nice for some signings early. But we don’t have a game till the 14th so there is plenty of time.
If we don’t make a decent signing by Friday; we’re going to find it ****ing tough. Players will all be looking to see who goes first and if nobody does they’re going to get cold feet. We don’t even have another week in my negative opinion.
please log in to view this image If we're going for players of Trippiers level I think quite a few could hold off for a while, but once the first one signs is when the Domino's effect kicks in!
That's the hot motherfucker with stripes of mustard, I avoid pizza nowadays but that was bad ass junk food
