How in the name of Graham Taylor have I managed to be 350pts behind the leaders. At Christmas. I haven’t missed any set of fixtures, either.
Bloody hell, Chris, you’ve gone from 4th to 5th and you’re worried! I’ve gone from 17th to 18th, cologne is 17th, and we are 100+ behind 16th.
Brian's Predictions League 2021/22 League Table Another low scoring week based on only 8 matches. Without the Horns playing and the potential double score on that and the joker having to be moved onto the next valid fixture in the case of postponements it's becoming very difficult to knock up a good score on here. The top 5 from last week all scored badly but with scores so low it was hard to take advantage of this. Only one of us really made hay from this and that was Paul who placed his joker on the Gunners to win 5-0 and it came up. Watch out for Lawro from the BBC, and he also has a match in hand - Newcastle v Man Utd (he's gone for 0-2). Even with this he will have had one match fewer, having not tipped the 2 Championship matches. Brian's Predictions League 2021/22 League Table The positive development this week was that we did actually manage to get 10 of our matches played. Though it is hard work not knowing which matches are going to be played and which of our tips are going to turn out as being superfluous. Some of the scores on here were a bit higher this week with Matej taking pride of place with 101. Charlie and Paul also got 90+ scores. NZ still leads but the gap has closed to 53 points over Mark who has moved up into second. Matej and Charlie have gone into 3rd and 4th respectively. The places from 2nd down to about 12th are closer than they have ever been at this stage of the season, meaning that one good week can really make a difference. For Andy and myself we need many such good weeks in a row to catch up lost ground Focus now moves to the FA Cup next week. Too much relaxation is ruining my form. Thank goodness we have the cup coming up so that I can regroup.
Brian's Predictions League 2021/22 League Table In the end 8 of our scheduled matches went ahead which meant that only the first two ot the reserve matches needed to be used - those being the games at Luton and at Cardiff (Barnsley v Blackpool was postponed). Any jokers placed on postponed matches automatically moved to the next fixture on the list. At long last the Hornets picked up something Some tippers realized that Utrecht v Ajax was quite a good one to have a joker on - Ajax having only conceded 4 league goals this season. NZ was the winner this week with an astonishing score of 162 - this was through getting the Watford scoreline right and placing his joker on Ajax to win 3-0, together with a couple of other good results. He really is going to be hard to catch now, though it's still possible. Charlie moved up well into second with a score of 94. Second highest score of the day was my own with 121. I must apologize to tippers who get reserve fixtures spot on and then find them discounted - it happened to a few of us on the QPR and Millwall matches (including myself) - nothing much I can do about that. Thanks Cologne, bit of a yoyo top half, one bad week and you're out of the top 8, but I'll bask in the glory for at least 1 week. We'll done NZ (do you cheat by getting the results 12 hours before us )
You've spotted my tactics, Charlie. Even so, I am pretty astounded by this week's results. Have no fear, though, the fall will come.
