I have a bit to say about the referee, and VAR, and the throw in that led to the free kick, so buckle up folks...
I know its not really the done thing to be blunt on here, but your continuous whingeing likely deters some from contributing here I'll swear it the team had won a game 10-0 (fantasy football !) you'd moan that a throw in was wrongly given to the opposition in the 2nd minute. I gather you actually attend games, maybe with notebook ready to record (in your mind ) all the injustices that are bound to occur as happens every week? The clues in your choice of the 'like always',thats someone so blinkered they convince themselves that his poor club is so victimised by (not human) referees and of course NEVER get an undeserved decision in their favour.Totally illogical. Impression is you just cant take defeats-probably even a draw- so do wonder therefore what real enjoyment you can really get out of following the club. Things will never go completely the way YOU want if you follow a football club. Take a look at the stats from yesterday, thats facts not someones mind set
He seemed to get a slight touch tbh. We probably got lucky with a foul by Kucka on Dier as well I feel having seen MOTD. Not sure why the ref blew up just as Pedro was going through though in an earlier incident.
The other results went well for us today, it seems whenever we are in danger someone else slips up The football gods are teasing us like Odysseus in the Odyssey Pedro needs more game time to show us what he is really capable of, he was denied that opportunity by a poor referee yesterday
There was an article in the Sunday Fail that some of the players are losing faith in Ranieri, I hope that is just gossip we need everyone to pull together
A couple of things about the lead up to the goal: multi ball was not in effect and; the match ball was on the pitch in front of the GT Stand when the throw in was taken. I’m not sure but I’d put money on one of the Spurs backroom staff grabbed one of the spare balls and gave it to their player to quickly throw in. The actual match ball was kicked off the pitch by a Spurs player with the illegal ball in play. The game continues, Kucka doesn’t get away with the rash challenge and it’s game over. MotD, of course, didn’t show this, did not deem this worthy of discussion. It was a gross technical error, not an ITOOTR error (like the challenge on Louza, the pull back on JP, and -for my money- the two not given penalties, one each), the sort of thing that “The Blazers” do not let lower league referees get away with. For PMGO’s to miss this is completely unacceptable. We’ve been properly mugged by poor officiating yet again.
When I was putting the match thread together I looked up Robert Jones because he was a ref I didn't know. "Robert Jones is an English professional football referee who officiates primarily in the lower leagues." Like Scully I thought he was making a decent fist of it until midway through the second half when I wished I hadn't said he was doing alright.
I thought there was a touch from Lloris, but only visible from the sideline view. The other views weren’t very clear, but perhaps favouring a penalty, I thought.
What did you make of Davies’ challenge, Fez? I thought he was extremely lucky to stay on. Call it paranoia, but I do think one of our lads would’ve walked for that.
I’ve always thought oldnick to be a Junction 11 troll, although I did enjoy his jibes. But I have to agree with duggie that the colour of shirt and where it sits in the table, affects the decisions of poorer referees. And ‘stars’ getting free ones. I thought Kane was given far too much leeway, for instance. Was Jones starstruck?
When you consider his two footed challenge that broke a Leicester players leg did not even get a yellow let alone the red that EVERY pundit thought it deserved then how high in the table do you have to be top get decisions Having watched Chelsea v Liverpool which was almost a bloodbath and could have seen two sent off, Mane after SIX SECONDS it shows that only teams below Sixth in the table are not allowed to tackle the top teams, was a great match for neutrals tho
