He’s one of the laziest player we’ve ever had. He’s been off it all season, and you may be into something. If he keeps his current behaviour and attitude he’s a League 1 striker that all.
Do you have a link? You so often ask for one and I have no memory of this and don't really want to go hunting through 20+ pages in here.
Few of the main Turkish papers saying that Shota will be the new head coach and that he's just sorting his work permit and getting international clearance. His record in Turkey appears to be pretty good so it'll be interesting to see how he does
He got that job though because he had success at 2 other sides in Turkey. He took Kasimpasa into the Europa League and they're currently in the relegation places. He's clearly not woeful and it's obviously a risk but it's happening. The report also says we've looked at Mbaye Diagne but he's injured. He'd be another top striker for this level and if that's the level of forward we're going for, it'll make Shota's job a lot easier
Dont understand why alcohol is not off limits for players. They make a fortune relative to the rest of the workforce, and their livelyhood depends on fitness. Alcohol and fitness do not go together. For many of us moderation is fine, one drink or a max of 2 but also for some of us 2 can lead to 3 and so on. Anyone know what the clubs policy is on alcohol. Or indeed what other cluibs policy is,
Sorry, no link to hand. But it was definitely said, as others have confirmed. There wasn't any detail or clue just something about he understood there would be 1 exit that would likely come as a surprise to most of us. I took that as meaning it wasn't KLP or Greaves, as that wouldn't be a surprise given the common knowledge of interest in them. I was then thinking maybe Honeyman, Doc or Elder, but now my money is firmly on Wilks.
How do you know Wilkes was even drinking alcohol ? The place he was said to have been in on Princes Avenue on Boxing Day is hardly recognised as a drinking den or even a bar. The club have a strict policy on alcohol and diet. They employ their own chefs and dieticians. Perhaps Wilkes has something going on his private life ? Perhaps he is carrying an injury ? We don't know. He was our top scorer last season and deserves a bit more respect then he is currently getting by some on here.
I agree. Tyler Smith, yet to score, misses a sitter gets nothing. Mallik Wilks, scores a few, top scorer last season, absolutely berated for underperforming.
I see your point but wilks has been well below the standards he set himself last, and in his first season. Yeah he has his limitations at the level, but doesn't look like he's interested this year. Pre-season I'd have said keep at all costs. Now I'd have no issue with him leaving. He may have scored a couple - but whoever had played the minutes he has this season should have scored a couple. If anything winds fans up its players not trying. That's what it looks like and in the absence of any other explanation, that's why he's kopping the flak at the moment.
Well of course I dont. Just wanted to know what the clubs policy on alcohol was thats all. And in general what is the policy in other clubs. I assume it has significantly changed since my hey day watching City in the 60s and early seventies when the policy at most clubs was loose to say the least. A quote attributed to George Best went something like this: I gave up alcohol and women after 20 minutes I decided it was not for me.
My thought was whether he should have even been out as a likely close contact to upto 20 colleagues/ staff.
