Hasn't he got a pretty poor record of keeping poor teams up? Stats and record make him look very similar to McCann - great when he's got a decent team for the level he's at, but poor when he needs to overperform at a higher level to keep them up.

As you have guessed, Acun has close ties to football. Back in 90s he started as a football news TV reporter, progressed in media industry and made fortune in around 25 years. He currently has close ties to Fenerbahçe management, owns rights to European cups' broadcast, and maybe the biggest media boss in Turkey. He loves playing football and sometimes called well-known retired footballers to play with them on sundays. I guess he is talented to conduct mass public through media very well.
