Grayson's going to have to learn the art of defending first...

Sven's going to have to learn the art of tactics and the art of not being a clueless old hasbeen first.

Yeh but you're really flogging a dead horse with comments like that.

I do find your confidence strangely misplaced though. You know very well that you can't defend, and you saw how Blackpool got on when they ignored that problem. Even if you were to get to the Prem you'd struggle with a team that ships goals like you do.

Mentality plays an enormous part of it. Blackpool were a team who felt "right we're not gunna be here long so lets make a real go of it". They went out and entertained and basically did their best to fight a losing battle, shown by their good start and deterioration. If a team feels like they belong there the mentality and approach is different and will do a lot for the success of the team.

As for Sven being tactically clueless... that's pretty much common knowledge. He is a gormless old hasbeen.

Hence my flogging a dead horse comment. Don't tire your fingers out (or at least do it in a different way) <ok>

You can play attractive football and organise the defense as well though. By your logic your team doesn't believe it belongs in the championship, let alone the premiership.

Yet we're sat reasonably comfortably in the playoff places with a game in hand and not looking like slowing down just yet.

I can't believe the comments I'm reading on here. We're in October and Leeds fans are talking about surviving in the Premiership next year and Leicester fans are talking like we have no chance! It's unbelievable! Are you the sort of people who only watch the first 20 minutes of a film, because you're so wise you know exactly how the other 75% will go?!

People need to get a grip and remember how much a league table changes over a season.

    It is much, much better.

Makes this place a lot more interesting as well, purely because if we win we can dish it out like its no tomorrow but if we get beat we just take it on the chin as we have done.

Do you judge an entire club on the basis of one or two fans comments? If we're supposed to do that, then I start assuming that all Leeds fans are morons, and not just you and Marko.

One of your numpties decided it was relevant to mention that Leicester are the only promotion candidates who have any real chance of staying in the Premier League more than one season. Not only is it complete bullshit (West Ham, Southampton, Leeds to name but a few who would stand a substantially realistic chance of staying more than a single season), it's not even relevant. I just thought it would be amusing to debunk it anyway.

<laugh> you ****ing hypocrite, that's absolutely priceless. I'm 110% sure you were one of the ones at the start of the season lumping every single Leeds fan together in one group as "bitter" about losing Schmeichel, on the basis that we "all thought he was the best thing since sliced bread" until we sold him. Opinions were actually mixed. You ****ing head case quick call the asylum we got an escaped patient!

Well there's still 3/4 of a season to go, so people need to worry about this season before thinking beyond, whoever they support. Apart from Bristol City fans. They can plan for League one now.

Assuming Bates doesn't pocket the 50 million or spend it on developing the stadium, we have a pretty good one. Leeds United in the Premier League is an attractive prospect for a player - a more attractive one than Leicester City at any rate by a long shot. That does a lot for bringing players in, we don't need the "draw" of some old has been who's won **** all for years to get players to want to come to Leeds. It's just a shame Bates has every intention of killing that draw.

    You are right.

All the big names are desperate to go to Leeds, who wouldn't want to play for an inexperienced manager who is doesn't have a secure job at the biggest flop of a club in English football has seen since 2000 all under the watchful eye of probably the worst owner ever.

Who wants to play for a club they haven't even ****ing heard of that's got nothing to distinguish themselves from any other club there to make up the numbers?

You can make anything sound convincing if you word it right. Fortunately many players see Leeds United as the football club that once dominated European football under Don Revie, the club that stormed the league in 1992, the club that shook up the Premier League and Champion's League at the turn of the millenium. They see Leeds United as a club that's hated and not only doesn't care, but thrives on it. A club with some of the most loyal and vocal fans in the world (who don't boo their own players btw), following their team in numbers whereever they go. There are countless players who would consider playing for Leeds United as a career highlight, we see players come through our club all the time who grow a fondness that remains for years after they leave.

And I never said desperate. But if an agent rings up a player and lists a bunch of clubs that are interested, and Leeds is among those clubs, I guarantee Leeds will be one to stand out. Especially in the Premier League.
