Best wishes to all on the board ,HAPPY NEW YEAR and here's to a memorable transfer window in a good way I will raise a glass to those we have lost this year , see you next year ............COYS
Just choked on my wine when I’ve read the New Years Honours List. Steve Holland, seriously wtf? Emma Raducanu, ‘for services to tennis’, seriously wtf? Emma Hayes, seriously wtf? The Queen must have been pissed when she did this.
I would like to think that since Phil the greek departed, she really doesn't care any more. But even in such a state I refuse to believe her sense of duty would deteriorate so much that she would consent to Blair the war criminal being made a Sir.
Possibly she understands our constitution better than you and thinks you have to be convicted of a crime before you are a criminal. Blair certainly made mistakes but in terms of their effect on the country they are orders of magnitude less than the three last PMs.
We can excuse Blair for "mistakes" that resulted in the N deaths of citizens of the UK that arose from the invasion of Iraq in 2003. After all, N deaths here is far more devastating than N hundred thousand there. < got it >
Just a reminder, but in five years time we're all supposed to dress like this please log in to view this image
**** me, we could pay off the stadium debt if we halved the bloody coaching staff!! (Yes, I know the medics etc are in that group)
Except it was clear that the invasion of Iraq by the US would have happened whether or not the UK took part. So there is no evidence that Blair caused any excess deaths there.
Every single British serviceman who died in Iraq is an excess death And Blair is responsible for every one of them
Every single PM causes people to die by his or her decisions or lack of them. It comes with the job. There is no way of analysing the counterfactual so no way of actually measuring this. You can make a judgement that is all. The call for Blair was whether to let Bush do it himself or whether to take part and make it work better. Not an easy call at all and the numbers of deaths by the other call may well have been higher. Fewer UK ones perhaps but that isn't my sole criterion.
Let them do it on their own, and not on the basis of a fabricated lie produced in the UK that was subsequently cited in the UN by their foreign secretary as part of the "just cause" .
