For Rileys, try Jay Raynor and Michel Roux Jnr As far as the busses there's a transport exec which subsidises some bus services. It's way better than E Yorks - thats for sure - but a couple of years ago I could leave in injury time and power walk to paragon and get the last train to Brid or Donny or York if I was getting home on a 7:45 kickoff.
Why should they leave their flares at ? They don't seem to do any harm there. Though the sit down shutup brigade will tell them they are interfering with their quiet contemplation of the game and stopping them following what Man .utd are doing on their radios. Not to mention spoiling tge enjoyment of their packed lunches washed down with coffee from their thermos flasks. Bet he wished he could go back and start again. Imagine the uproar that innocent gaffe would have caused nowadays.
Bloke down the snooker club reckoned his taxi driver saw Jon Parkin get out of a helicopter on Hymers field. Knew it was 'The Beast' 'cos they needed a Chinook to drop him off.
All the best for 2022, a fresh new dawn and new era, would domination back on the agenda, hurrah! Up The Mighty Tigers!
Murat Ulker whispered to be a backer which makes sense. Source maybe not the most concrete but would be strange to make up, bloke who said he drove them when they were here. happy new year all.
They were complaining about the buses when I was up there which amazed me. Try getting buses between Driffield, Brid and Filey which are similar distances between Amble and Alnwick at night. Or even Brid and Flamborough. In my state I wouldn't get to Paragon for last train unless I joined the lot leaving early, in fact very early.
Yeah, there have been a couple I've had to leave with the game in the balance - and there's a couple where I've knackered myself getting there in time.... Theres different politics in the North East than the East Riding at council and local level. But as I've been told already today its probably outside the scope of this thread or this board.
I think everyone ascribed it to Ron Pickering but it wasn't. Which miffed him. Here are some Coleman classics but some of my favourite clangers weren't his. "Those Romans certainly knew how to make things. That sundial is 2,000 years old and it is still working," Tony Blackburn. " His car is totally unique. As is the one behind which is identical." Murray Walker. " Here come Sporting Lisbon, who in their green and white hoops look like a team of zebras" (Can't remember who that was). Some Coleman classics ( though to be fair to him I once met a mate of someone at work who said Coleman had a mind like a computer. He worked with him on a Saturday at the BBC when everything was coming in through earphones and he could still work out league positions and corrected those who had more information in front of them than he did and he did it from memory). That’s the fastest time ever run – but it’s not as fast as the world record. Don’t tell those coming in the final result of that fantastic match, but let’s just have another look at Italy’s winning goal. He is accelerating all the time. The last lap was run in 64 seconds and the one before that in 62. For those of you watching who do not have television sets, live commentary is on Radio 2. It’s gold or nothing…and it’s nothing. He comes away with the silver medal. Forest have now lost six matches without winning. And here’s Moses Kiptanui – the 19-year-old Kenyan who turned 20 a few weeks ago. I think there is no doubt, she’ll probably qualify for the final. If that had gone in, it would have been a goal. The front wheel crosses the finish line, closely followed by the back wheel.
True. What surprised me up there was how good Arriva were who get a bad press down here. Having a bus pass and being able to leave the car behind and to go out in Amble and come back to Warkworth at 11.40 without the expense of taxis was very pleasant. Though most nights I went in the Mason's Arms in Warkworth as it was good beer and great food.
Last 2 Covid years I’ve caught up with a fair bit of the UK. Somerset,Isle of Wight,Oxford,Bristol,Norfolk. Daughter started Uni in Newcastle this year so I guess after that review Northumberland is a must.
