I once rented a house in Runswick Bay; I remember sitting in the attic room looking out across the sea, window open, grey sky before the rain, just listening and it dawned on me that I actually preferred that moment to the all expenses paid holiday in Barbados I'd had the year before.

Sometimes it's the little things.
Totally agree, I was sat in the pub on the sea front waiting for someone, I wrote a poem as I waited, took me less than 10 minutes to write it and the ****ing thing won an award. Took me 3 weeks to write one I thought was my best… didn’t get the same response… go figure lol.

No, because the deal had been done and had been passed over to legal, which I knew wasn't going to stop the process. Of course, you and most of this board wouldn't know because you didn't have the information we had being fed to us. Heck, there was even a few things shared on here that I was told not to say (hopefully nobody got into trouble), but it was for everybody's benefit.

If you're really going to sit there and claim that people like myself and HS2 were wrong for saying it was done when all that needed sorting was legal stuff, you g'head. It's really just chucking pennies at a panzer.

But it wasn’t done & still isn’t done….

Runswick Bay is a lovely spot.

Plenty go there. Which led to a row about parking with a silly twat last time I was there. And a bigger row with my better half for telling me I should walk away even though I was in the right.<laugh>
We tend to go annually early November. Yeah I guess not much parking there summer. Great bay and nice little pub.

There are some good places in this country. Never been to Northumberland until 3 years ago. Went as health reasons stop me travelling abroad because of insurance and been down to Dorset and Hampshire and New Forest which I really like a few times, Cotswolds and Norfolk as well so thought we would go up there. Some great beaches, scenery and good food, All at reasonable prices. Going again next year.

Northumberland is stunning - not just the coast and still relatively unknown.
Planning getting a boat at Amble to kit out and learn to sail better for retirement...

... Once the mortgage gets paid in a few years time...

Still arguing about people ITK and knit picking. Jeez.
