I can't make the 300 mile round trip for an evening kick off and I am guessing the club will not give me a refund on the original Saturday kick off that I could make. ****ing postponements.
Cheers Tom, I will do. However I emailed them after the game was postponed initially to see if I could get it transferred to another Saturday game. They emailed back to say unfortunately as per our terms and conditions your tickets will carry over to the rescheduled date. Not giving up on this just yet though.
I'm not surprised they wouldn't transfer to another game but the club should issue a refund for those who can't make the re-arranged game.
As STHs who live a reasonable distance away (approx 1h 20 drive) we used to accept that we couldn’t do midweek games. We accepted there’d likely be 2 per season scheduled for midweek, and at least 1 moved from Saturday to Friday or Monday (we’d try to make the Fridays if we could) We stopped renewing last season anyway for various reasons, but if we were still going I’d be highly annoyed at the way a game can be postponed for the away team’s convenience (both Brentford and Newcastle) if I were not able to get sone sort of pro-rata refund. Though it shouldn’t be Saints who lose out here either.
The point is that Saints fans are losing out on seeing games that they paid for because midweek rearrangements at short notice will not allow many fans to attend.
New officials for this one: Referee: Stuart Attwell. Assistants: Adam Nunn, Peter Kirkup. Fourth official: David Coote. VAR: Peter Bankes. Assistant VAR: Lee Betts.
Just tell them that you are self-isolating so can't go to the game. Seems to work for everything else
Mods, will this thread be re-stickied, so that we don't miss any cheese puns between now and kick off?
So who are we missing for this, Tino still, KWP and Valery? Any more? Can see JWP at right back at this stage!
Che Adams was still testing positive for Covid so expect he will still be missing aswell as McCarthy of course
Really don’t want to loose JWP from midfield so Jack Stevens for me, might want to play Redders in front of him as he is the best No10 for defending and Stu A looks like he is still playing at 50%
It depends on Romeu’s fitness level but I would suggest that if we don’t think a Romeu-Diallo midfield partnership is good enough against a lower mid table premier league side (even if that is our current level as well) then it is an area we urgently need to be looking at but appear not to be based on all the comments from the club since the summer For what it is worth only have three players for that position is an absolutely glaring squad weakness that is regularly ignored . And we somehow still didn’t learn after last season when we got two injuries in those slots and had to play Armstrong or the ill-fated Man United episode with the Swiss lad
Much as we castigate Newcastle for doing precisely that, Brentford pulled a fast one on us too with their original postponement (I think, going by the team they put out a few days later). It is frustrating that come the rearranged fixture, we're in a far worse position than them this time around in terms of injuries/Covid. (I'm not in any way suggesting we try to do that by the way, that would be ridiculous. It's just frustrating for us, though RTM will sort it).
