That's not good - hopefully you have a quick recovery.

Must admit that I'm having a hard time visualising what actually happened though...

You are amongst friends here Mex. We won't paste it all over the media if you tell us what actually happened. :emoticon-0103-cool:

We've all had similar embarrassing accidents. I broke my leg in two places once by falling down a flight of stairs.

I say flight, but it was from the third step from the bottom...<laugh>

    HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022

Best wishes to everyone. May you all stay safe and healthy in these uncertain times.
Let us hope that Watford can bring us pleasure, win lose or draw.
If stress is to remain, may wine prices stay stable.

Morning all. A new day with the sun blazing down and a temperature of 16°C already, better go in search of the shorts. Hang on though, this is the 1st January, winter, when gloves, scarves and thermal bobble hats are required. Global warming no doubt, but if it is this warm now what will it be like in summer? Have a good day everyone. <ok>

We had a major accident in France (our only one actually) when a man anxious to get his baguette before the boulangerie closed (Saturday afternoon) opened his car door right into our path. Wrecked our tandem , wrecked our 9 week tour - after only 1 week - and in the aftermath , the tandem was stolen on its way back to England. Piece of useless advice - don't ever use SERNAM for anything.
And as for keeping at least 1.5 metres away from cyclists ? Ha - what a joke. It's been recommended for years -2 metres actually. Most motorists interpret the distance as a maximum not minimum !
Meanwhile , Happy New Year !

Morning all. How the year is flying by, and without rain so far. Bright and mild again. How long will it last? Some friends out here have a smallholding with various livestock, including a couple of donkeys. Because of this virus they have not been able to provide family support in England to their daughter who has a badly disabled child. As their granddaughter grows it has taken a toll on her parents, so our friends are returning to England to help out. They are trying to take the donkeys with them, but the paperwork is turning into a nightmare. All straightforward this end, but no one has a clue in England what rules do or do not apply. Having been here for twenty years it has been a heartbreaking decision for them to leave their lifestyle behind, and we will miss the long lazy meals sat in their garden. The virus and Brexit have really messed up life for so many. Have a good day whatever you will be doing. <ok>

I snapped my Achilles tendon playing tennis with a 12 year old grandson. The surgeon suggested I stick with people my own age. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Morning all. Murky and damp, but still mild for the time of year. Everything back to normal today after the New Year weekend. Shame that when an event deserving of a public holiday falls at a weekend, the day off work is lost. Many of the smaller shops do not open on a Monday, a bit like it once was in England with the early closing day. My BIL owned a shop and lost his Wednesday afternoon off, then lost his lunchtime closure, and despite the extra hours his takings stayed the same. People somehow survive when the shops aren't open. Have a good day everyone. <ok>
