It's great to hear that they're allowing pregnant women to uncross their legs. <ok>

"but it is consistent with higher % of recent new Covid +ve patients being admitted for another reason but having an 'incidental +ve' test i.e. admitted 'with Covid'

    Just like S. Africa

Good news looks like NYE is on folks, no more restrictions being implemented so football's still on also so safe to buy a ticket for the Everton game now.

If they hadn't advertised sheep pole dancers, there wouldn't have been a problem.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will miss the Premier League match against Manchester City on 1 January after testing positive for Covid-19 for a second time.

Assistants Albert Stuivenberg and Steve Round will take charge at Emirates Stadium.

Defenders Calum Chambers, Cedric Soares, Takehiro Tomiyasu and midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles missed the 5-0 win over Norwich on 26 December after testing positive.

Arteta tested positive in March 2020.

"Mikel is isolating in line with Government guidelines and we wish him well," read an Arsenal statement.

Arsenal, who have won their past four league games, are fourth in the table, 12 points behind leaders City.

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard and Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira missed matches over the Christmas period following positive tests.

Half a teaspoon of vodka snorted up each nostril will do the trick.

An issue I've not seen addressed anywhere, relates to once it is decided that this is 'over'.

Will the excuse 'We'd love to come but we're self isolating to be safe' still work as an excuse for getting out of events?

I'm not the only one doing it am I? :emoticon-0111-blush

Actually in a few weeks we’ll know what the actual outcome of omicron has been and that could put the Govt in a tricky position.
If, and I’m not saying this is the case, but its a possible and hopeful outcome, it turns out that omicron doesn’t cause severe symptoms or hospitalisation, then the Govt will have a test system in place to find it, causing loads of cases to be found but potentially needing to make a decision to simply ignore it and go back to normal, or at least a version of normal where sensible disease control precautions like wearing masks if you have a cough or cold are still encouraged.
But of course there is still Delta in the system and that does definitely cause severe symptoms and deaths.

    Interesting times for decision makers

EDIT - and yes if they can build in excuses to not go to **** events and be able to go to good ones they’ll have hit the jackpot!

I agree, I’m really pleased I’m not making these decisions as there’s some really important and perhaps hopeful ones to come.

In terms of Delta, I wonder if in a few months it’ll be wiped out? Did Delta itself wipe out the original strains or are they still about?

Had to endure listening to some of the women at work the other day.
Three menopausal, they all said this covid **** has made them more tearful and anxious and then burst into tears. All three said they keep doing it too and all thought it was due to hormones. Then the young fit one said she keeps bursting into tears too!!
    Anxiety through the roof.

meanwhile I sat there and finished off the Celebrations, and picked my horses for the afternoons entertainment.

Will it mean some people will feel safe watching us play a PL team but unsafe when back to playing Championship Clubs?
