Transfer window opens in just days. Any strong rumours of incomings? Any takers for Dele, Ndombele or Lo Celso? This is a big transfer window for Spurs and with lots of games in January, it’s imperative that incomings are signed asap to get up to speed. Really hope that it’s not left to deadline day or even worse until the summer to get in a couple of players at least.
Yeah I quite like Henderson but not at probably £50m. Johnstone on a free makes so much sense, especially as I don't think we'll sign Gollini in the summer. Hopefully we sort Lloris' contract though and he puts off a return to Nice for another year or two. It's almost a certainty that we're not going to sign a better calibre keeper than him in the summer, or someone remotely worth paying out for anyway.
The outgoings are what worry me because I think there's two deterring factors: 1 - a lack of interest 2 - the fees we'd actually want to sell should there be interest (and by we I mean Levy). None of them are worth more than £20m at the moment but would the club accept offers around those figures? I highly doubt it. I still think we'll make additions though, I think Conte's been promised that and we can't afford not to back him.
Yeah I think outgoings will probably be loans if anything. I’m hoping (based on nothing) that Levy will stick to whatever what promised when Conte took over and I can’t see Conte taking the job without knowing he would be able to get in decent additions in the window. Originally I said at least 3 in (CB,CM,ST) but maybe now the club will be alright with the current defensive players as they’ve done alright and Romero is due back soon. But a CM is still definitely needed and the annual Harry Kane injury can’t be far off too so bare minimum for January has to be a CM and ST. The summer will hopefully see more of the squad moved on and new faces bought in.
Yeah that's what I've said too, the back three seem to be doing ok in this system and once Romero returns I think we'll be solid enough for the time being and can then reassess in the summer. Reports do claim Conte still wants a CB this January but it definitely feels like a creative CM and ST should be the priorities, if we had an Eriksen type yesterday we'd have created three or four more golden chances against that ten men and buried them, then as you say a Kane injury feels inevitable, especially now he's back among the goals.
Kessie and De Vrij keep bubbling up, as does Vlahovic - although in the latter case, signing Vlahovic will surely get in the way of signing anyone else given the £70m pricetag being bandied about However, as I've said a few times already, I do get the feeling with Kessie that he's playing us and Milan off against each other in a game of transfer window chicken where the only winners will be him and his representatives
Kessie is one for the summer though isn’t he? De Vrij linked with a January move or is possibly a summer move too? I’d love Vlahovic, I think he would be a great fit for Spurs and thrive under Conte but yeah the fee seems huge.
Milan really can't afford to keep letting players go for nothing, especially after losing Donnarumma and Calhanoglu in the summer without receiving a cent, so they'll surely be trying to get some money out of Kessie given how razor thin the margins some Serie A clubs are operating on at this point in time De Vrij seems a possibility now that Inter are being linked with Matthias Ginter, in much the same way Romero became a very real possibility once Atalanta were linked with Merih Demiral The thing with Vlahovic is that a buy-and-loan-back seems like the best option for us in January given Vlahovic has said he wants to help Fiorentina qualify for European football, and in January we might have a decent chance of getting the deal over the line - but in the summer that's not so likely given the monied clubs will be seeing him as a fallback option if and when their pursuits of Haaland, Mbappe et al come up short
Lyon have reportedly submitted a €4m bid for Zenit's Sardar Azmoun. They are yet to respond. We were linked with the Iranian striker and supposedly bid for him in the summer. The club turned it down at that point, but he's out of contract in July.
Gerard Romero claims Ousmane Dembele won’t be renewing his contract with Barca. He’ll be free in the summer so can be approached on a pre-contract in January. Reckons Barca want €50m to sell him in January… good luck with that, lol.
Gianluigi Longari has responded to a Spurs fan asking if he knows anything Spurs related and he reckons we’ve been offered the chance to sign Arthur Melo, whilst are interested in McKennie and Kulusevski, all of Juve. Vlahovic is on the radar but a summer target.

Pretty much agree with all that. We all know the squad isn’t strong at the moment and 2-3 are needed asap. Winks long term isn’t the answer but he’s shown enough to be part of the squad short term. Ndombele is a waste of space, has plenty of talent but been at the club for over 2.5 years and never looked consistently good bar the odd flick and trick here and there. I trust Conte 100%, just hope he’s backed properly in the coming window
