Just got back from Brizzle passed thru traffic near Port Talbot and Newport and near the Clifton bridge on the way in..got to the ground just as the train crew arrived most of whom seemed the worse for wear....very noisy outside and once inside the jack army were in full voice near enough throughout proceedings. First .15 was all Robins and it looked like we were in for a nasty hammering...Piroe scored a great goal settling the players nerves and ours and though the home side had some chances Benda coped well. The team as a whole performed as a unit and far better than against Stoke. Man of the match for me was the whole team and if they can show this level of consistency especially with injured and covid hit players coming back who knows where we can go

It was a good three points and played ok, let’s be brutally honest, we looked all over the shop at the back, if they had any quality up too or out wide we could have been 4 down at half time. It also was clear we have a very light squad and still need 2 or 3 to come in. Over all I will take the points but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here, we are no way the finished article and there is a lot of hard work to do.
Goalkeeper great shot stopper, takes a good cross, but gave them two clear chances with his in ability to pass. Which we can’t keep doing.
Back three defended manfully and gave everything, but we desperately need others back and maybe need to add a good centre back. Again last night first half they were caught out of shape I don’t know how many times.
I think the rest of the squad looks ok but still need another forward.
On the whole really happy with the three points but a long way to go to be a top half side. Just think back 4 days to what Stoke did to us.

If indeed the players are tired perhaps the manager should give the reserves and youngsters a run out keeping some of the senior 0layers on the bench....last night was totally unexpected but congratulations to the players and management for giving the jack army something to cheer...

One other thing about the game on Friday was the fact that the ref wanted to be the centre of attention booking 6 of ours and 4 of theirs. This was not a dirty game but obviously the man in the middle was an attention seeker

Bristol City have reported a pre-tax loss of £38.4m for the 2020-21 financial year.

The total is significantly up on the losses of £10.1m the Championship club reported for the previous 12 months.

They blame the increased loss on the impact of having to play behind closed doors because of the coronavirus pandemic and a big drop in profits from selling players.

Chief executive officer Richard Gould called the losses "extremely serious".

So nothing to do with ludicrously unsustainable player wages then.
