Yeah, I made her wear a mask. She’s already used to wearing one and doesn’t really care about it. It’s hardly like she was nailed to a cross and left in the garden for 10 days. And I was completely unvaccinated at the time, however have had my first jab since. She didn’t pass it on to me so it worked, simple common sense things that harm nobody and can be carried out by people with a brain, so I wouldn’t expect you to understand.

Wasn’t actually fishing for him but I’ll always stick a moron on the scales <laugh>

My missus is very vulnerable with a lot of scar tissue in her lungs from childhood pneumonia and a rare and very severe form of asthma, as well as immunodeficiency, so she went to stop with her mum and dad for the 10 days. And also we were already 1 person down at work with a long term illness, we are a small 4 person business. I couldn’t afford to have the 10 days off there was no way I could have any longer.

So yeah I took measures to minimise the risk of her passing it on to me, short of imprisoning her in her bedroom for 10 days which many parents I know have have done (and the government advise you to do, or did at the time).

Just remind me... With certain folk on here still convinced it ain't happening, others (myself Included) believing it's it was past the point of return and essentially 'done' between the buying and selling parties some weeks ago...

What were the rules of the sweep-stake exactly?

I know it's over when the obligatory 'scarf shot' is on the club website but when exactly was the last call for entries?

Could Den yet be usurped by a more accurate prediction than 'closest to 1501'...?

Just a thought .. is it possible that the new owner may be dragging things out due to the financial implications of Covid ? Potential of lack of funding if crowds get banned etc .. not being ITK, I have no idea what's going on, but I had this thought a few weeks back. Maybe way off, and hopefully HT2 and Mr Toast maybe better informed to dismiss this evil thought out of my head !

Just wondering, who are these folks on here that are still convinced it ain't happening?

I don't think there's anyone. I think even Kemps knows it's likely happening.

There's maybe a few, me included, who wouldn't be that surprised if it broke down, we know the Allams can be incredibly difficult to deal with and have pulled stunts before and it has already dragged on longer than expected, but on balance expect it to get over the line this time. Analogy - I'd expect Magennis to score our next penalty, but I wouldn't be that surprised if it's saved.

Quite a statement saying there are folks convinced it ain't happening.

At least someone gets it, having taken flak for not accepting it's a done deal I guess I would be one of those who are miss understood.

Having seen many attempted sales fall at the last hurdle over the past 7 1/2 years including the one where the owners, you know the ones who are actually selling the club were so confident that they wrote their fond farewells in the program, I am keeping my powder dry until it is officially done.

You're right, the window of opportunity for entering said competition was minimal. I missed it despite living on here since the Toast and HT's exclusive breaking news. No closing date for entries either. Hardly democratic.

Baz C linking us back with Regan Slater again in January under new ownership… suggests Grant is sticking about and having some say on incomings?

    As you say
Closes to page with a photo of new owner on pitch, scarf above the head.
There was no deadline for entries, but I closed them after quite a while when no one else seemed bothered
It was very poorly organised and I wouldn’t ask me to do another one if I were you.

If thats the case he's as bigger **** as I thought.... we have Huddlestone, Smallwood, Doc, Honey, Moncur, Longman, Willams, Smith (Man City who Pep supposedly raved over ... cant get a ****ing game), Cannon and even Alfie Jones..... and this **** wants another midfielder .... this is more telling me a Plan B is in place in case...

And just while I think about it.... the lad the rumours of signing striker £8 million.... if McCann is in charge he'll be worth £2 million by season end..

Apologies, this is on the wrong thread, but I didnt start it!
Both Mrs A and I have had PCR results confirmed as positive. Daughter is still waiting, though her LTF is positive so will presumably be same.
I seem to have it very mild so far (touch wood). I honestly thought mine was a xmas hangover/ cold! Mrs A is a bit worse than me, presumably due to her reduced immunity but is out of bed (and nagging :emoticon-0127-lipss !!!!) today.

Tell you what, I bet there's a lot of people out there have this variant without even realising, All three of us had several negative lateral flow tests, when in hindsight we had the virus. Also the government and NHS are still telling us symptoms are high temperature, cough and sense of taste/ smell...we've had none of these.
So I would advise if you have cold type symptoms, take several LFT's on successive days. Also, consider swabbing throat as well as nose, as it apparently takes longer for it to reach the nose.
