1-1 FT. What a rubbish performance. Terrible first half, poor substitutions and dogshit decisions from the officials. We may have had two goals chalked off for nothing, but we played pathetically overall.
Poor result and an awful performance. Too much of the slow, sideways crap we've gotten used to seeing in recent years. No one capable of playing a ball through the middle.
**** me that was the most frustrating half of football I think I have ever seen. 2 perfectly good goals disallowed. The absolute definition of Spursy
Really poor attacking play for 11 vs 10 for 45 mins. The Kane non-goal is just embarrassing for the PGMOL.
I’d have probably taken a draw pre kick off. But after the events that unfolded, that has to be seen as 2 points dropped now. Nothing went for us in that second half. No real clear cut shots at goal, and disallowed goals to top it off. Meanwhile, west ham got 3 points and improved their GD further Not a great afternoon at all.
Couldn't agree more. I like him for his passion and occasional key contributions but in terms of giving control of the midfield or creativity? Zilch.
Winks was far better. I wouldn't mind if Hojbjerg did his defensive work well but he is so often out of position it's a joke. Something makes up for it by good tackles which somehow convinces people he is a good player.
On a positive note, Conte is the first ever Spurs manager not to lose in his first 7 league games. 4 wins and 3 draws.
Too many were not on it today, poor matches from Son, Hojbjerg, and Reggie, Moura didn't contribute much as a sub. The first 3 will all need resting for the next match. Not sure how Ward-Prowse was MOTM, Walker-Peters was excellent for them.
From the BBC: We can't really be surprised that the standard of officiating is so poor at the moment, surely the consequence of years of abuse suffered by referees in all forms of football from grass roots up? Who would honestly decide to referee these days? Football needs to examine its attitudes to officials at all levels if we genuinely want the standard to improve. Rory, Slapton Completely agree, but they seem to like a bit of controversy at the top.
You can berate the team as much as you like. But decisions make games and we had three goals disallowed, two of which should have stood. What I don't understand is how VAR is supposed to intervene to rule on the tightest of offsides (if at all), but does not intervene to tell the ref that the keeper dropped the ball. Why not?
To be fair Doherty had a decent game for the time he was on and also whisper it Winks put in some good balls
