it's very difficult, I've got covid at the moment(2more days isolation) more importantly the wife has muscular dystrophy, can't walk, wears an oxygen machine at night ect. I've kept in a separate room but have to come out (with mask and gloves) on to take her to bed/loo. Other than that we are keeping apart because I think if she got it she would be in big trouble. Luckily my daughter is doing cooking ect and when I come out of room she sprays with disinfectant sray. I don't think there is much more we can do and hope it's enough. Hopefully your daughter will pick up quickly and you can keep apart enough so it doesn't affect you. When you have someone with health problems it makes it a lot more difficult. Good luck.
To be honest Den, we have been fortunate that my daughter is on holiday (she works at a school) so has been a great help. Unfortunately she can't lift her so that's when I come in but has you know it only has to be on your clothes ECT but hopefully we are nearly there now.
I hope you get through it, without your wife picking it up. It seems like you’re taking every possible precaution. Get well soon.
Wishing you all the best mate, fingers crossed your wife doesn't catch it, if it's any Consolation I've just got back from my daughters for Christmas.. as we walked through the door to her house she was in tears and showed us a positive covid test, having travelled 190 miles to see her and the kids I wasnt gonna turn round and walk out so stayed .. both me and the missus are double jabbed and have had boosters, got home last night, tested this morning and both of us are negative. So hopefully you'll be the same mate.
Very best of luck Johnbo. Your doing the very best for your family. I’ve just tested positive on my sons 18th birthday after 20 months of missing it and I’m due a pre op on Thursday. It sucks. Got everything crossed for you all as reading your post makes me realise it’s tough for many people.
Great news, must have been great relief to be negative once home and seeing your daughter over Christmas.
sorry to hear that Phinius, no time is a good time to get it but what an unlucky time for you to get it. Hopefully you get it out of the way and get that opperation sorted quickly.
It was tbh but given she'd tested the day previous cos she felt crap and was a negative it was a surprise tbh, wishing ya all the best mate
Mrs A and my daughter had positive lateral flow tests yesterday. This was after a few days of negative tests when we’ve all had omnicron symptoms (similar to a bad cold). I am surprised I haven’t had a positive result too. I have just read with the omicron variant, that the virus can take a while to reach the nostrils, so the article advised to actually swab the throat too…presumably before the nostrils!, We’ve just been for a pcr, so will know tomorrow. Mrs A had chemo and radiotherapy earlier this year, which does still make her immunodeficient, which is a worry though just like a bad cold so far
