I am expecting rotation in the team, and that means turning to the 5,3,2 formation, which also helps against their 4 man midfield ( where they have more strength ). Possibly Davies was rested in order to play at LWB ( Sess injured, Reggie coming back from an injury ). Lloris Doherty, Sanchez/Japhet, Dier , Rodon/Japhet, Davies Winks, Dele, N'dombele Kane, Son
No real ability to rotate Kane/Son (sadly) , nor the defence (Romero injured, Doherty not fronting up etc) , but Conte is at least trying to rotate the CM/AM.
Harveeeeeeey! Good to see him in the squad, imagine he's there as backup for Reguilon due to Sess' absence and Davies back in the XI at LCB. Not a bad XI, thought Doherty may have come in for Emerson but other than that it's more or less along the lines of what I expected.
I think due to him playing the full 90 the other day he's been rested, along with Skipp. Conte managed to get Kane, Son and Hojbjerg off against Palace so I think that's why they keep their spots. Couldn't really rotate Reguilon with Sess out injured but with White on the bench that is a secondary role for him so if the opportunity presents itself he could make his league debut, although I did think Doherty may have started for Emerson seeing as he too played the full 90 just 48 hours ago.
Bit technical for me that, I'm more of the 'Arry - go out and run around a bit. Perhaps that's why I'm not a manager
Conte clearly recognising that Moura and Skipp can not play every match...we have Southampton (a), Waford (a), Chelsea cup (a), FA cup (h), Chelsea (h) cup, Arsenal (h), Chelsea (a), by the 23rd of January 7 games in the next 26 days. If Conte doesn't rotate the players will burn out. I liked him subbing Kane off on boxing day...in the past he has continue to play even when the game is won.
