I'd replace Gilmore with a paper weight made from feathers - about the same size and usefulness

Honestly something like this (with the players we have available) :



Lees-Melou would be the one I would think about, should this be him, Dowell, Cantwell or Tzolis. However Les Melpou can pick out a pass and shoot from range. I was impressed with McLean Vs Arsenal and would pair him with Sorensen. Tzolis on to replace Giannoulis/ Williams when one tires. Featherweight would be tied to the bench to make sure he doesn't blow away and if Chelsea want him back... so be it!

I would probably have something more like this if we had everyone fit, featherweight Gilmore would be on the bench:

Kabak can play DM and dribble and is big so him and Normann would provide a screen, Sargent would be there to protect Aarons and run around like a whirling dervish for 70 mins and then get replaced by Tzolis or Idah.

Holy crap no Pukki or Aarons Gilmore as holding midfielder

 

In the six matches where Gilmour has played DM for us, we have lost six, score one and conceded 19.

Essentially, all of our heavy defeats this season (bar Chelsea, where he was obviously not able to play), have had Gilmour at DM.

Time to break that pattern…

Gilmore's not the "holding midfielder", he's the regista (think Chelsea's Jorginho).

 

I can't find anything on PinkUn to explain what has happened to the missing players, whether it's Covid or injury. Maybe they expect us to pay for such information now.

 

They are suffering from chronic embarrassment

 

Pukki and Aarons not even on the bench so either injury or Covid which means we have 12 players out compared to 5 for Palace. Little faith in Gilmour screening the defence but like Lees-Melou coming in.

This is going to be painful, which could explain Smith's grim reaper impersonation.

At this stage I think we just have to laugh about it. Covid and Premier League refereeing will have conspired to relegate us again.

 

McCracken is a goalkeeper and Rowe I believe left wing back
