Just been having a natter with a load of the Blackburn lads before the match , the poor buggers haven’t got a clue it’s been cancelled yet.

Feels like a load of clubs are going to use this to their advantage again. Eligibility to play should go all the way down to the U23’s, none of this, we only have 4 subs when there’s 20 lads in academy’s chomping at the bit.
Every other profession has to get on with it, why can’t football.

Especially considering the size of Premier League squads, the likes of Chelsea and Man City moaning about lack of players is just embarrassing.

Another reason why the number of players on a teams books should be capped.

Gutted about that. We are on a good run and must be full of confidence.

whilst i hope everyone affected makes a 100% recovery, i think a few suffering injuries to key players might just find an extra case or two to get games cancelled, especially those near the foot of the leagues.

it only takes one to get caught trying to get games called off and it throws the whole 'be safe' scenario out the window and there then becomes a higher risk of the EFL just calling the season off, right now we would be reasonably safe of a play off spot at the very least but not the way anyone wants to 'win' a promotion or relegation.

I have been thinking this for a while, anyone with short term injuries may find a few cases to get a few weeks to get those players back, maybe I'm just
    cynical?

Is there a number of covid cases before a game can be called off? Or is it a case by case basis? I mean we would probably be able to field a team with more players out to covid than other teams in our league as we will have a larger squad and youth system.

Does that mean we will have to play and field the reserves where others can say oh sorry can't field a team?

Clubs are playing the game with this imo.

Pushing for postponements because of injuries or waiting to get players signed in Jan and then having more fixtures with a better squad.

Its not getting monitored at all and leaves the league open to manipulation.

Fair question, for both the EFL and the PL.

The thing seems to be an opaque shambles, and beyond those in charge, who can barely count the buttons on their precious blazers.

Irritating but not the end of the world. Hopefully a bit of rest after a busy December will do us the world of good and give Johnson extra time on the training pitch. Hopefully get Winchester back soon too

fact is, by the time these games are replayed which will most likely be getting nearer the end of the season the teams could be vastly different to those they would be able to field at this present time.

i think all teams should have to supply a list of names of all available fit players and covid cases then they have to use only those on the list when the games are to be replayed, obviously in the window a few will be moved around but in the main those who were injured at the time/not at the club are not eligible to play, for all we know we could suffer a mental injury list between now and then and be forced to play a severely weakened team against a team that could have all players fit and raring to go...no situation is going to be ideal of course but it needs keeping an eye on.

    You're right.

I have no idea how this works, but if clubs do not have to provide pcr proof and names and times of testing, the whole thing is an absurd shambles.

Getting beyond the joke this. Are clubs taking the piss a bit? You'd assume the EFL are checking the tests etc but if feels like a hand ful of injuries and a couple of covid tests are enough to postpone a game

Furthermore, the likelihood is that there lads being forced to isolate are asymptomatic - at what point does this virus stop require testing and isolation?
