When I was frying the beef mince off for the cottage pie there was a clear gamey smell? The meat was from a farm other than the supermarket, it looked fine before started but there was deffo a different smell. Not sure whether to bin it or not?
Got hold of the person we bought it off and she says it's normal. It looked fine and didn't smell bad it was just a strong game smell when frying.
No it's Herefordshire grass fed beef, along with what the farm owner said I've found online referenced to strong smell and game flavours. Fingers crossed it won't kill us.
Prefer shepherds pie out of the 2 looks well made would use more cheese but that’s just me would go for seconds
I'm guessing that tastes better than it looks. My eyes looked at it, communicated with my brain and said no. My tummy promptly told me it wasn't hungry. I hope you fed double portion to that miserable old sod staying with you.
I'm just not feeling it. Maybe on a cold winter evening in Jan But the day after boxing day, roast dinner, bubble & squeak and a ton of christmas cake etc. It just screams no.
Out for a beach stroll today. Stopped off at little cafe. Gourmet burger for me, missus went for Falafel
