It really isn't complicated Ric. Given the ongoing delay and the fact that he very clearly states that they are still trying to get to an agreement and conclude the deal, it would not not surprise me in the slightest if Acun chooses to walk away in the next week or two. However, if I were to bet on it, I'd still lean toward them finally getting to an agreement.
I don't think someone even contemplating walking away goes to the trouble Acun has been in terms of setting up his team and identifying transfer targets. But some will always hope for the worst case.
No he didn't say it was out of his hands and awaiting EFL approval!! He said the TIMING was out of his hands, as in how long EFL would take once they actually have an agreement to approve. He said they had been and still were working on trying to get to an agreement, after which it would need EFL approval. That's why I'm now concerned it might not be happening. We were told a week or two ago that there were some issues still to resolve before agreement was reached and that the feeling was that these issues shouldn't scupper the deal, but here we are several days (week or two?) later and the agreement is still not finalised for EFL to approve.
Totally agree. And I'm desperate for it to get done. I despise the All's (in relation to our club). But people like Acun won't wait and talk forever and won't be strung along. There will come a point where he says **** it, even if just to call their bluff.
The only bit that's out of his hands is how long EFL take to give approval. But they can't do that until there's an agreement to approve. Jeez, it isn't difficult. Just listen properly to what's been said
Not sure I'm the one who isn't doing that. EFL approval can be done in a day if everything else is in place.
Strange post.... You have no idea what "people like Acun" are like, if that's how you think they do business....
GFAW no disrespect meant but at every step of this potential takeover you've sought to rubbish or undermine any potentially positive news. It makes it hard to take your posts in good faith.
Ok fair point. I should have prefaced with ',IMO'. Do you really think he'll hang around forever if he can't get to an agreement with the Allams?
That is totally incorrect and untrue. Utter BS. And all I'm doing is pointing out that what is being said by Ehab and Baz is that they still haven't got an agreement finalised Talk all u like about EFL; it's a waste of time until there is an agreement there for them to approve!! I give up. I just want this deal done asap.
We can read into what he had to say and can speculate as much as we like, but let's wait and see, we don't know the real situation, so as Tickler used to say TWT.
But Baz has also said there is no cause for concern and the deal will be done in the coming days. You seem to ignore anything positive in order to highlight the worst case scenario.
No I don't. That's a ridiculous thing to say. For the past few weeks I've been saying to all my friends and contacts that yes, it's really happening this time. But the fact is that here we are, past Boxing Day and a deal still hasn't been agreed. I'm getting increasingly nervous. I doubt I'm on my own.
That bit made me laugh, you're probably the most negative poster on here and you constantly look for the worst-case scenario. And as per usual it ends up with you saying garbage. You really think Acun is close to walking away if it's not done in 2 weeks? They've spent months planning this, all the 4 people who will be managing it on a day to day basis have not only been found and secured but they've also sorted accommodation for them too. On top of that, we've clearly started negotiations for players in January & from the few we've been linked with they appear to be expensive additions. On top of that they've been negotiating through Christmas Day, and Kesler left his family in Turkey to do so. And to top it all off, Acun will have paid a substantial deposit, I'd imagine 7 figures and he'll have huge legal costs too. He's also been telling everyone he's buying the club so if he walks away now he looks a right tit. There's absolutely no suggestion anywhere that he's remotely close to walking away. The deal is fundamentally done, they're clearly just negotiating some of the finer aspects and no doubt the Allams are dragging their heels too. I really couldn't care less what Ehab says, he lies time and time again and I don't think for a second that he wants to sell the football club.
I said "you seem to be", because that's how it appears. It's not ridiculous at all, I provided a clear example.
The most negative. **** off. I didn't say he's close to walking away, and I also didn't say anything about 2 weeks. Stop posting ****. I said there would likely 'come a point'. Some of you lot are unreal. For some reason, you just make stuff up, rather than reading what is actually written or what has actually been said!! This all started with me trying to point out facts based on what had actually been said (primarily by Ehab and BC) about the state of play. Some were posting comments that were simply not in line with what was being said. **** it, I give up.
