Why this weird obsession with playing major games over Christmas, when all those taking part away from home just want to be with their families etc The football winter break should be week before Christmas till 3rd round of the FA Cup Oh wait almost forgot the giant media companies own sport and they decide who plays who and when they play, silly me
In Australia, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas for the majority if Boxing Day test matches were scrapped. They rank right up there with Melbourne Cup races in the sporting calendar for fans and players alike - and probably predate TV.
I sometimes comment on boxing here, I watch a lot of it. I think not many here do, but the Parker Chistora fight is worth a watch.
Just a little 275 run victory then. Am looking forward to the Boxing Day test at the MCG - such a shame Bay 13 was yuppified two years ago though.
I used to, especially in the late 70's and 80's and we'll into the late 90's until murdoch finally killed it off. Up until them I could name most world champions at most weights, most British Champions too. Long consigned to the cobwebbed section of my brain and I rarely watch these days. I've heard that the Parker Chisora fight was a bit of a belter though!
The second day of England's third Ashes Test against Australia in Melbourne may be delayed amid Covid-19 concerns. The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed England's players have not yet left their hotel for the Melbourne Cricket Ground. An ECB statement said: "The England team and management are currently at the team hotel awaiting results of Covid tests following a positive test in the team's family group."
The third Ashes Test will continue after England's players were given the all clear to leave their hotel after a Covid scare.
Good news of course they are all healthy but cannot even catch COVID! Apparently had this been the 4th test in Sydney they'd all have to stay inside so bet the organisers are glad its not. Mind you how long will this last?
The bowling wasn't too bad (albeit Anderson by far the best as usual) Trouble is we had to bat again.
