13 outfield plus 1 keeper. Everyone whinging about games being cancelled yet very little detail being given on why (how many Covid/ injury etc), i would imagine that the PL will not cancel lightly for TV reasons so suspect all games off are legit.
What’s the threshold for games being called off? Or are they judging it on a game by game basis and taking other injuries into account? There’s no clarity around it and it seems very inconsistent. Don’t get me wrong, health must come first before any sport but the sporting integrity must be kept too.
If one team doesn't have 14 first "team squad" players available (13 outfield plus 1 keeper) then they call the game off, it's quite simple really. All clubs name a 25 man first team squad at the start of the season, players that are used from lower teams (U23s/U18s etc) in certain games do not count as part of the first team squad named so are not counted in injury/Covid cases.
For some reason the Mail is reporting our fans are "enraged" that the match is taking place Probably didn't bother asking any of us about that, did they?
Vieira reportedly self-isolating, yet the game goes ahead Similar goes for Villa's game, as Stevie G is also self-isolating yet we're not expected to lower flags to half mast
Should be at the stadium right now for my first game in over 2 years…damn Covid getting in the way. No idea when I’ll have the chance in the near future either. Many have it worse though. On the bright side I’m dry and have an awful lot of leftover Christmas booze to see me through. COYS!!
