I think we need a top 3 reshuffle. These are as bad as I can remember in my lifetime. Root is on a hiding to nothing. Don't think we will win one test or even draw
If we are going to win a test in this series it will be this one. £15 on Crawley top run scorer at 6/1, ktf
Attempted to stay up but as it had been pushed back half an hour because of the weather and I was already flagging I switched it off after Hameed registered England’s 50th duck of the year. ****ing dreadful.
Heard a stat that England have had 21 different opening partnerships in the last 18 months to 2 years and only 3 times have they made over 30
Must have heard that wrong... "England has had 27 opening partnerships in Tests this year, managing to get past 30 runs without losing a wicket on just six occasions. They have failed to get past five runs without giving up a wicket 13 times."
They just look like a team that doesn't know how to play test cricket, unless it's going well. They hardly play any first class cricket at all now, unless it's a test, and look as if they can concentrate for a bit, then play a schoolboy shot and get out. The bowlers have been poor, though in the past they have often had to name up for poor batting, but is not going to happen here . They don't even have the best bowlers playing, and have studiously avoided blooding bowlers for years. The results are in just as we knew they'd come in. Broard and Anderson almost done in, and virtually no planning for the day, it's always been, " let's have one more match on an English greentop, win it, and pretend all is well" It isn't, it wasn't and it isn't going to be while the people who run the game here concentrate on keeping their blazers, their salaries and cosy lives. This tour was absurd anyway, with indecision even into the tour about where the games would be played, no cricket for months on end prior to The Gabba , and restrictions on players movements. But you can still lose properly, and for the most part, they look as if they would rather they were somewhere else.
I'd imagine they dont want to be there. That, along with the pressure of the Ashes and not knowing what team Silverwood may pick for any given game means no enjoyment at all.
I've been thinking along those same lines. When the Aussie government was deciding how to treat the incoming England squad, the ECB and players had a big meeting on how to proceed with the tour before they flew out. I'm sure it was a majority decision on whether to go on tour. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a decision made by the ECB to go out in case the Aussies asked for lost earnings, hence the **** outings so far. I reckon most of the players just don't want to be there
This has to be the final test of Jos Buttler's career. The bloke's mind is scrambled and his technique isn't up the game. England have been desperate for their own Adam Gilchrist instead of finding the best wicketkeeper for the job
Man who averages 11 in tests this year, with no practice in last 4 months scores 12 in a test match shocker If this was football, Silverwood would have been sacked last night
English Test cricket needs a change. Something to shake it up. I'd appoint Eoin Morgan as coach and a completely left-field appointment like Brett D'Oliveira as a specialist captain to bat at 6 Root and Stokes are the powerhouses at 4&5. Wood, Stone, Robinson and (hopefully) Archer are the future of our bowling attack, but some variety would be nice We need openers, a No.3 and a spinner Crawley, Burns, Bairstow, Woakes, Anderson, Broad, Buttler, Bess and possibly Hameed should be ushered into International retirement
Commentators are thick as ****. “Should’ve started with Wood and Anderson” when Wood isn’t allowed to bowl!!! ****ing hell man
