Crowds aren't going down...where did you hear that?? It's people that start these kind of bandwagons that make everyone feel more negative and harm the club. The naysayers should give it a rest. We have SD, he's doing his best, get behind him and the team, they need us supporting them, not whinging!
Well said H common sense speaking - I have never before known Watford fans turn on their manager so quickly
OK just out of interest how many away fans went to Hull and how many went last season! also out of interest Home to palace this season and last! Yes I know we are in recession yada yada, but I would be interested in the stats!
Ok, a few stats; 2010/11 home to Palace; 12,664 (1,652 Palace fans) 2011/12 home to Palace; 12,559 (2,028 Palace fans) So actually more home fans (about 500?), although last season was on a Tuesday night. Hull away couldn't get the away figure but the whole attendance was about 2,000 down on last year, which certainly isn't just down to a lower Watford support. Of course attendances fluctuate a little depending on performance, but there are plenty of factors, not just form
Palace at home: This year 12559, last year 12664 Hull away: This year 18324 (285 'Orns) last year 20426 ('Orns unknown - but doubt they made up the 2100 difference) Read in to that what you will - but I'd say it shows that the recession is starting to bite across football.
we took 1500+ to brighton for a saturday night last week so 285 for a traditional 3pm ko is dismal, any excuses ?
Yes - Brighton's a great place to visit, whereas Hull............................ Stinks of fish, don't y'know
Please minus one off of those attendences - i will count as i have a season ticket but wasnt at the palace match
LUZ population of Hull = 573,300 population of Watford = 80,000 We have one seventh of your population, yet took one fifth of your figure. Any excuses?
Interestingly i found this amongst my documents today when i was looking for something else. I don't usually save things, so i'm not sure why i did...but it sounds amazingly familiar! "The only way i can see of going forward is to change things. Not MM, i still don't believe we should give up on Malky, but we need to have a team shuffle. Use some of the less tired players that have been sitting on the bench. Bring on Noble, and see if he can do for us what he does for the Sunderland Reserves. Bring on Travner and hope he doesn't get a red card! Take off Cowie and give him a rest, change the Captain, JD just doesn't seem to be helping at the moment, for whatever reason, and we haven't been playing the same since he came back from injury. Bring on Bennett, who i thought looked pretty good at the beginning of the season." I imagine at the time, people were calling for Malky's head too...just as well nobody listened..eh?
Lets hope Craig Beattie is a masterstroke ,with 1/4 season gone ,it seems we have another striker to fit Seans gameplan!!!! Wonder which hasbeen journeyman is the next one in on loan!
If Baz is letting Sean spend more cash getting this and another (rumoured to be Mcfadden from Everton) then I would assume SD is safe to at least Jan ! Oh Dear! please get someone in to help him stop buying all these average players! Pushs our own kids further down the pecking order!
