The rate I'm going, I'll have this finished before Christmas brilliant as ever. I see Sky are also re-showing Zero Zero Zero - have you seen it? Same crew that made Gomorrah, it's utterly brilliant
I thought I’d have a go at doing a film review. Here goes… Last Train To Christmas Don’t bother, it’s ****.
Spent a very entertaining few minutes laughing out loud at a list of Viz characters and the entirely deadpan descriptions of their characteristics. Then having to explain to the family what I was laughing about. Friar **** - a monk with Tourette’s. Bertie Blunt (his parrots a ****) - a boy owns an extremely violent, foul mouthed parrot…….. …..probably easier to browse at your own convenience…. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Viz_comic_strips
I'm watching 'Prisoners' ( 2013 ) on Sky. It's a very dark and slow watch. It received lots of plaudits on its all star cast and won an an Oscar for its cinematography ( deservedly ) but it's an uncomfortable film. So much so that I may chuck it in. I'm one hour and thirty minutes in ... still another hour to go.
I did see that and enjoyed it too. What gets me about Gomorrah is the millions of euros they seem to deal with and yet they still live in such a hell-hole area. To my ignorance, until I watched the program, I really hadn’t appreciated just what a 5hit hole some parts of Italy are.
Got a nice gift from an employer today - two of each of these....... Some fairly spectacular stuff there. I'll report back to all interested ponces.
****ing hell, by mistake I’m seeing a bit of Not Going Out with Lee Mack which is on when the news is meant to be on. What utter, complete crap. Really weak. Not seen it before and am genuinely shocked that anyone commissioned it.
It's pish. Currently watching The Last Igloo on BBC4, a brilliant documentary about an Inuit out hunting with his dogs. Seen it before, stunning scenary and when night comes the skies are amazing...
@Stroller Have managed to watch the first 2 episodes so far. It's very long but if a fan of the Beatles later stuff, you will really enjoy it. Great to watch such a legendary band at work in such a tight situation and the interplay between them. Really interesting watching McCartney and Lennon's natural chemistry as they work on songs together. Especially seeing McCartneys drive to keep the band and the project going as others falter and his imagination at work as he creates classic songs almost at the drop of a hat whilst strumming. Looking forward to the final episode and the Saville row gig.
We watched it a couple.of months ago...it's a good watch. It's not groundbreaking TV but we enjoyed it....it's got a mental twist at the end that we didn't see coning
Cheers steels. It's hard finding the time what with Noah and all but determined to finally watch some stuff! We started 'Mare of Easttown' last night. Is 'Succession' good?
Not seen either of those, but heard Succession is very good. Would recommend Guilt on iPlayer - it's a BBC Scotland show, it's very good
The Mezzotint is on BBC2 at 10:30. It’s only 30 minutes long which is about as long as it would take to read the story. Saving the port for tomorrow, but will finish a bottle of Malbec while it’s on. ….pretty good, but the written version has more nuance and menace, with less explicit scariness.
Missed it. Too much going on with setting out presents for all the grandchildren. By ****, this household will have done its bit to sustain the Chinese economy and line Jeff Bezos's massive pockets. Consumerism gone ****ing mad. Bah, ****ing humbug. Rising above all that, I opened the first of my gifted wines, the Chateauneuf-Du-Pape. Very good, but not spectacular. Slightly disappointed.
