Money, money, money and not even through the 1st booster roll out yet One jab a year in autumn time i get and would make sense but this surely can't keep going on long term, gut feeling is this cannot also be safe to have this many jabs in a year.
When my missus was faced with breast cancer she had to have lots of “jabs” within a few weeks. She didn’t complain, or question the science, or go on social media to ask if it was the right thing to do. She thought first about her family, and the consequences of not getting “the jabs”, then did the right thing with more courage and fortitude than I could ever have. To not get vaccinated against Covid is not only selfish, stupid, and reprehensible, it’s also cowardly.
Have we had 10 weeks since the Omicron variant was discovered? however since it was found an adjusted vaccine has been produced, distributed and given to millions. how can they know its efficiency declines after 10 weeks?
The drop in effectiveness isn't based on Omicron, it's based on the virus overall and it only drops by 15-25%, so it's still fairly effective.
Jesus. No, I didn't. I pointed to the spin on the figures, according to them proving Boris right, which was repeated across the right wing press e.g. Telegraph, Express etc. Both Mail and Guardian highlighted a report that said Omicron was 40% less severe (although that became 50% in the Mail headline). Later on, the Guardian reported an additional study that had a 70% figure, but they still noted that those kind of figures don't mean it won't end up being worse. The anti-lockdown (and frequently also anti-vaxx) people conveniently ignore the massively increased transmissibility which may still mean that more people get hospitalised than previously. We don't know yet, but it's not time to just say hey no problem we don't need any additional measures. Jesus. Again.
The Mail quoted the same figures with 70% the same day. Jesus. You seem to have a phobia about right wing media. Why not stick to The Socialist Worker? Jesus.
By the time we know, it's too late. We CANNOT keep locking down every time a new variant appears as we simply can't afford it in terms of cash, kids education, mental health, or other non-covid health care. So we are going to have to ride it out at sometime.
With the bullshit and misdirection being scattered through the media, there's liable to be a lot more that you're liable to describe as '****ing idiots' that just think '**** it all'. Pubs and hospitality has been hit hard enough, and it will get hit even harder as more people make their own bars.
The ‘things would be back to normal with no restrictions if people just followed the rules’ spiel has been trotted out since the first lockdown and it’s still a load of bollocks.
