Former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein aiding Acun Ilicali in Hull City takeover plans Exclusive: The former co-owner of Arsenal and Premier League ambassador is helping Acun Ilicali with his takeover please log in to view this image Former Arsenal FC vice-chairman David Dein (Image: Huddersfield Daily Examiner) Hull City's prospective new owners are hoping for an imminent completion of the takeover of the club, with a key member of Acun Ilicali's team meeting with the Allam family today. Tan Kesler, the proposed new director of football at the club post takeover, is holding talks with the Allams as Tukish media mogul Ilicali aims to get a completion of the deal over Christmas. It has now emerged that the Turkish businessman and television personality has been seeking help and advice from a well known football administrator in this country in an effort to expedite the deal process and to allow the new ownership to find their feet quickly. Hull Live can reveal former Arsenal chief executive David Dein is working with Ilicali in an advisory role to help smooth the Turkish businessman’s arrival into English football. Dein was introduced to Ilicali through a mutual acquaintance and has been helping the incoming owners, particularly in their discussions with the EFL which have been overwhelmingly positive. Currently an ambassador to the Premier League and the Football Association, Dein is one of the most respected and well known figures in English football, having also played a key role in the creation of the Premier League. While not directly involved in the takeover talks, it's understood the ex-Arsenal co-owner has been a big help to Ilicali in his dealing with the EFL and in offering advice about the next steps once the takeover has concluded.
Well, I for one am most grateful to you and HT2 gor any information you get and share. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't, if you hadn't both shared anything everyone would be moaning that there wasn't any news, now you both seem to be getting the blunt end because of a delay!
Trust me on this one, I have never and will never share anything to make myself look like "Billy big bollocks".. I really couldn't care any less what randomers on an internet forum think of me and the size of my balls, I share it because first and foremost I'm a Hull city fan and I know how little Info the current regime share and how much id want to know what was going on etc. As I've said before... I may be right, wrong or somewhere in the middle. I said it was done because thats what I was told by both sides of the party and someone close to a third party who has now been named. I don't bullshit, I don't want people to think I'm "Billy big balls" or to "look at me" etc. I just post info I get. As and when I get it and have it confirmed.
It’s nearly Christmas folks, let’s celebrate this possible new takeover. It’s the closest we’ve been in erm 24 hours...
Let me confirm I Personally am not giving you or toasty grief and I appreciate the info given . Just saying it’s the message we’ve all wanted for 7 years now , it’s done .so you can understand why it caused an outpour of emotion . It wasn’t hearing it’s done, or I’m pretty sure it’s done , it was definitely it’s done , it caused big excitement that’s the one announcement that probably needs 100 % certainty , haha … everybody expected acun to have the keys and on we go . Obviously now it was a slight error in communication and these things happen , I personally haven’t seen either of you getting grief though ,apologies if anything I have put has come across that way , was just getting annoyed at constant repeats of things change . When yes they do but some things also can’t change! Anyway it’s Xmas , let’s move on
Talking of Billy Balls, reminded me of the comedian Reginald D Hunter on a TV programme about racial stereotyping. A woman, also black, asked him if he ever got fed up with stereotyping, for example, the one about black men being well endowed. "Well," replied Hunter"there are a lot worse stereotypes to have...".
I get pissed off with people having a go at those who have been trying to keep us informed. They really can't win can they? The sort of people who seem to enjoy people being wrong. I see say cheers to all those who have kept us informed as best they can. Have a good Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Been down that road a few times, our next move in 2022 will be our last… unless I win the lottery, then I’m buying a bloody big mansion lol
I've said it a few times now, some give the impression they don't want it to happen just so they can say "I told you so"
Have the prospective new owners passed Scrooges right and proper persons test? Apparently ex Arsenal headboy David Dein is involved in the negotiations, along with Bob Stratchit.
Awaiting the first person to ask what the **** does Dein know about investing in football clubs and running them.
