I'm sorry to say 'Strictly is not something I watch, senior management does, we are lucky i guess we have more than one TV.

I have never been to Thailand, but are not lady boys a feature there? Young men who are very pretty therefore are kind of confusing?

They are definitely confusing!!! We were in stayed Singapore once and were in the bar of the hotel where they had singers on the night. We went in to catch the show and all the singers were ladyboys. You cannot tell the difference, no Adams apple and with a quick check - no bulge "down there".

Personally I don’t give a flying F U C K about WOKE or anything like that whatever it’s meant to be.

What I would say is that there’s too many folk who are WANNABEE attention seekers. If that’s what they WANNABEE then let ‘em, but not at my expense.

You’ve written just what I would say. The adverts are driving me nuts too Fair enough let’s recognise that there are people of colour in this country- but let’s do it proportionally. They are a minority , and the number who are married to a white person are a minority of that minority. Yet these adverts seem to think every other household is mixed race.

i did write another post but did not think i explained myself properly...i also think that (for an example) we have gay or supposedly gay lads who seem to be attempting to 'outgay' each other for more publicity, i feel this makes it a lot harder for people to come out and just be who they want to be, i dont know maybe that is just me but the media whores help no one.

I'm in a similar situation tbh.

Not that I'm a lady boy in Thailand but do have to tolerate Strictly for Mrs Smug <laugh>

After seeing the perfectly acceptable parade of the chubby, the gay, the black, the deaf, the obese, the hopeless, etc, I'd imagine the BBC will be hoping to follow up their success and desperately thinking of which minority to bring in next ....

... seriously, how can they keep topping the last series when the celebrities must be increasingly 'out there'.

I am just amazed that shows like Strictly, all the cooking, young folk getting their ends away, opportunity knocks stuff get the audience they do.

If there hasn't been a car chase a few explosions or a decent sword fight, or of course the green ie sports I am not interested. Netflix, Amazon etc have added to my viewing.

Despite the horrendous accents and the corny plots I like watching 'Vera' mainly for the locations.

But it's become weird when, on a jaunt into deepest Northumberland she'll walk into a country pub with a black landlord and his teenage daughters. Almost every episode has 'mixed race' couples, black lesbians and the odd Chinese fella hoyed in for balance.
It's like watching Frost and having face tattooed Maoris running the police canteen <laugh>

Is that an agenda, or is it levelling things up? For years Strictly was white men dancing with white women

This is the first series and also had an Italian judge with a ridiculously camp gay man as a judge.

Three of the fifteen dancers are 'whatever you're allowed to call them' these days.

Is that a fair representation of the nation statistically.

Think you are missing the point. It's not about strictly, nor does a couple of "non-whites" level things up

Why should everything have to be levelled up?

And your claim that Strictly was always white men with white women is incorrect.

A quarter of the celebrities weren't white in the first show.

"Levelling up" has been happening for years. You just need to look at kids shows like playschool and a multitude of others where the producers appear to have a need to cast the spectrum of colour/religion/sexuality.

Dept of Aboriginal affairs (well it used to be called that in the 80's/90's) used to state on their job advertisments "preference will be given to those of Aboriginal descent"

If we are all equal why when the census rolls around do we have to statour race and religion?

I'm all for equality however at times it appears that we've actually made the hetero sexual male caucasian less equal than others.

As an aside, am i minority given that only 16% of the worlds population is classed as white/European?
