Another tough game, though hopefully can get something from it. We will have to take out chances as they are likely to score, so should be a good game. It's about time Greaves scored, so that could be our Xmas present, Greaves gets the winner!
I didn't know his Grandfather was a player, I knew his Dad was, but I guess these things tend to run in the family.
It's nailed on for Tom to score, just so the media cab use the headline "Christmas Eaves on Boxing Day".
KLP will rip them a new arsehole & Bernard will have that six fingered Pot bonking Stokie “I’m changing my name” knob served on a plate with his Boxing Day buffet.
History might repeat itself. City will race into a 2-0 lead by half time, then fog will engulf the stadium and the game will be called off.
It was a Tuesday night. I believe it was the first match with decimal money in place. I paid 15p (3 Bob back then) I think it was on 15/02/71
Or as I always do to compare things, it cost about the price of one and a half pints. Our 3rd largest league crowd of the season, just over 25,000. Only 3 crowds over 25,000, that Sheff Utd which included a lot of Blunts, and the highest, Oxford with nearly 27,000. Disappointing crowds in a way considering we were challenging for promotion and had a good Cup run.
It was definitely a night game... we were in the South Stand and could see next to nothing so went down to the railings right behind the goal for a better view...
I was there for both games. The first was a Tuesday night. City were really good in the first half. There wasn't a second half. I was in the South Stand too. We didn't think it should have been abandoned. The second game confirned that opinion. It was, as has been said, a no score draw and City were poor in it. Blackburn were unsuccessfully fighting relegation and just came to defend. The point did neither team any favours.
