Interesting conversation at the boozer with my pals this aft. A long overdue catch up, 12 of us going, 4 down with covid, 1 just blobbed cos hes under the thumb! Of the 7 left, none of us have had the booster. The peculiar thing is, all 4 with covid have had the booster. Bizarre stats to say the least. Think we all decided at the table to give this booster the swerve, for the time being anyway.
How many of the 4 testing positive despite the booster are in hospital? Do you think that having it will do you harm?
Quite convenient for your arguments on this thread that isn't it ? I'm just interested to know that if you catch it, will you report it on here or will you be hospital asking for treatment telling the poor nurses you wish you'd had the jab ?
If any unjabbed person needs hospital treatment because of covid then I sincerely hope they get it and we don’t end up with a society that discriminates… like we do against fatties.
The first vacine shot made really bad, first time in years that i had time off work. 2nd not so bad just an aching arm that has never really dissapeared. I dont think any of the 4 are hospitalised. I know one has definately had covid before and he was fine that time.
Ive had my jabs mate just not the booster. Ive just been badly with the worst cough and cold ive ever had, tested negative throughout and a negative pcr. Still feeling it now. As for the conversation being convenient for my arguement, even though im not currently in an arguement with anyone, is not really relevant. Its the truth and even one i find quite bizarre.
Sorry, but I don't think you have had Covid Bob. Hubbie and a lot of my family here have had the worst cough and cold, headache and sore throat ever. All of them, I would estimate 8 people I know, have remained multiply lateral flow negative. 3 have PCRs and are negative.. They have not had Covid It is a standard old cough/cold but a bad one. All those tests, and it's a lot of tests, cannot be wrong
It really is a bad cough and cold, the mother in law has it too. She has had covid and said she didnt feel as bad as she did now, if only there was a jab for this too. I suppose all viruses act differently with people.
I agree (I think!). Apparently most of the people in London in hospital with Covid are unvaccinated according to a consultant. He also said that the first thing most of these unvaccinated patients ask is "can I have the jab now?". No cure for this unfortunately.
Okay on the whole thanks. Nasty headache yesterday but how much of that is COVID and how much of that is being stuck inside with two under three?
It’s a very odd thing. Symptoms might just be a cold, which spur you on to get a test, while COVID is symptom free….. Whole family are taking LFTs this evening in anticipation of my 82 year old mum arriving tomorrow. Odds must be quite high that one or other of us tests positive, we are all boosted but have all been out and about - sensibly but life must continue.
Good luck! It definitely feels slightly unavoidable now. Does make me wonder if this will finally give us hers immunity.
