Not sure how you know that but hope you’re right.

That said, I still think we’ve got enough to get us up. Considering our injury problems and we’re still in touch. (Still hope we strengthen obviously)

if we don't strengthen we're back in the playoffs lottery, and we all know how that ends.

We will see mate. But I was privy to some of the info at the start, during the planning phase and it was stressed that if we were in touch and other areas of the club are getting to self sufficient, then the cheque book will be out.

No one should get it twisted. We have already spend goof money on a couple of players in the summer window. Good players who unfortunately are injured. One coming back now which is big news as LB is a weak area currently.

I definitely see some money getting spent in Jan.

  7. Think I would agree with this. Given the injury situation, we have an opportunity, at the beginning of January not the the end, to sign the two or three players who will plug the gaps and make the difference between automatic promotion and play-offs. We look to have a decent platform, but we do need a bit more.
We have to grasp it now....not to do so would be potentially disastrous.

Last night had a lot of positives and I'm sure KLD would've wanted Johnson to give it a real go and not set up for a 1-0 defeat. Now it's up to KLD to provide the means to reinforce the squad and I believe he will.

As for risking players in the cup, it's a two edged sword.

How do you say to lads like Stewart, 'Sorry son, I know it's a quarter final at Arsenal but I'm giving your place to one of the kids.'

That's not the way to attract new players or loanees like Broadhead.

  9. Spot on. It's also not the way to represent the club. If we're in the quarter final of a major competition,we need to play our best eleven.
Some people sometimes forget that it's our business to play football.....it's what we do....and to try to win as many matches as we can.
That's our dna....the brilliant support I was so proud to be a part of last night confirms it.

On reflection of last night, there was a lot of positives. Mostly going forward as others have said, we matched Arsenal at times but definisively I feel we need some real presence in the back line and probably defensive midfield. I assume Evans was bought in the summer to hold down a place in the league but his injury problems keep resurfacing which has caused some problems along with O'Nien's shoulder so hopefully we can bring someone in to shore that up as well as maybe another right back and a no nonsense centre half plus backup striker. I can see Alves going back to West Ham especially after Johnson's stating why he was left out of the squad with maybe O'Brien leaving.

Another positive from last night, it confirmed my suspicion that when we play Newcastle in the championship next season we'll be picking up all six points.

  12. Also,I might add, I'm not at all convinced that leaving out our better players in order to rest them for what we see as the main goal of promotion, actually is all that beneficial. Winning becomes a habit, players' continuity is important, and even a defeat like last night can inspire players to use the togetherness to achieve more.
I'm not quite sure what would have been achieved by watching a second string outfit lose last night.

Eh, really? We done okay but can’t defend. I don’t think it was a 5-1 game but Arsenal were clinical. A couple of those goals could’ve easily been avoided.

It was said in one of the podcasts - can't remember which one that Johnson likes to work with a smallish squad and keeps to those players. Maybe that's why he didn't really use his subs

Eye of the beholder really. I think it was an. Excellent display with mistakes you’d maybe expect from a league 1 team. Which is why the players are league 1. Easy game from the stands/sofa

muppets in the Arsenal section throwing bottles into our crowd. Scumbag, cowardly ****ers. Two bottles full of water came whistling past my head, then I spotted a broken glass bottle. Shocking behaviour, they should be identified and kicked out.

Shame, as it tarnished a good night.

I’d say we need two full backs, another striker and big unit in midfield to deal with the league 1 bullies. We look so good going forward, but it needs a bit longer to click/players have the confidence to shoot on sight….. with more accuracy.

Gooch and Hume can function as wingbacks, but they’re definitely not full backs.
