****-stirring twats the lot of them. The media have paid a huge part in putting people off using hospitality by painting this Omicron variant as the bubonic plague!! Truth of the matter is the science is unproven so far.

According to some recent studies the symptoms of Omicron seem to be

    .Runny Nose

    .Headache

    .Fatigue(either mild or severe)

    .Sneezing

    .Sore Throat

Let us all hope this is somewhere nearer the truth and we may at last return to some sort of reality...

Why are the governments imposing restrictions in European countries, Germany being the latest?

What were the doubling times in the modeling? It could be interesting to refer back to it to see how accurate they were.

Without starting a cricket pun competition..I'm stumped!

(I read these symptoms 'hidden away' on the BBC website) I just hope they are nearer the truth than an over run NHS.

I have absolutely no idea why western governments are continually shooting their economies in the foot. What happened in India they had covid so bad a few months back it was the lead story on every news channel now no one mentions it. (have they all died) South Africa with only 25% vaccinated the place where Omicron originated seems to be getting on with their lives (ah but their population is younger and fitter than ours) And then we get to the biggy China, nothing about the virus there, plenty about the tennis player who went missing for a while though.

Because we have decades of experience of dealing with this virus and an effective vaccine every year to combat it. We also know significantly more about the spread and the mutations.

    Its not a fair comparison.

Coincidentally,it's five years to the day since I lost my Father to pneumonia(I'd previously lost my Mother to the same illness).

Sadly ,weakened chests in the elderly are commonplace at this time of the year, they are a fact of life and as you say...We can't stop the world for pneumonia.

I'm not anti-vaxx or conspiracy theorist,I believe there is a pretty nasty bug(covid) going around that we need to pay heed to,but we've got to get out of this somehow.

Media sensationalism is frustrating that to say the least.
