Considering what goes on in the Hunting fraternity behind closed doors though, this video is pretty mild. Fox Hunting is a traditional sport that goes back centuries in this country. But the cruelty (shown towards the hounds as well as the foxes) is part of that tradition and is essential to maintaining it. People who indulge in fox hunting have to tolerate this at the very least. Some actually enjoy it I expect. In my view it is right that it is banned in this day and age. Along with dog fighting and all other forms of violence to (or between) animals for the bloodthirsty entertainment of some Human beings. And no coincidence that there is no appetite among MP's to try and vote it back to legality, even given a right wing Government with a hefty majority.
Perhaps the hunters should get a dose of their own medicine, how would they like being chased and ultimately killed?!

The human race is quite barbaric when you stand back and look at it , I’m not vegan or anything but when you think about it we breed and raise animals only to be slaughtered and eaten - it’s been said before, how many people could actually raise and slaughter animals for food ? I couldn’t
I don't have a fundamental problem with farming animals, as long as needless suffering is not inflicted on them. Causing suffering to animals to maximise profit is wrong. Causing suffering to animals for the enjoyment of that suffering is just plain sick. People who enjoy hurting animals very often enjoy hurting other people as well.
Supermarkets are very sanitised places. I don't eat much meat, but when I do I like to know where it's sourced. I have worked in a chicken barn so know how ghastly a lot of livestock farming can be. I can tell a free range chicken from a battery one, and the local butcher recently sold me a battery chicken as a free range one, so I stopped using them. He was the 4th butcher to do this, so now I only buy organic ones from Waitrose or Sainsbury's; butchers clearly think we can't tell the difference.
I agree. I couldn’t either and yet I do happily eat meat. I think raising animals for food is really just an extension of any carnivore that hunts to survive. Because of our unique abilities we have just become very good at it. But that comes with responsibility to do it in the most compassionate and kind way possible, which sadly doesn’t always happen. But animals for food is a completely different matter to other animal cruelty for which there is no justification in my opinion. The stupid bitch in the video clearly knows very little about horses if she thinks that is the way to treat them, just because some other stupid human didn’t know how to tie the horse up correctly.
The last few years have seen such a shift towards veganism/vegetarianism that it's pretty mainstream now, especially among the young. Very few pubs and restaurants don't have veggie options, whereas 6/7 years ago when I asked about Veggie options in the 5 Bells I was given the option of a roast beef dinner without the beef. You do need to use a bit more imagination cooking meals without meat or fish but it can be rewarding. I regard meat as a rare treat, especially really good sausages. Did you know that Killer got his nickname because he came from a family of butchers? It certainly suited his style of play.
I've sort of moved away from meat too. No particular animal rights reason - I just find I'll go with a veggie option more often than not. Thanks to this innitiative, I found out that hummus is a disgusting tasteless lump of something vaguely remeniscent of snot.
