I'd prefer to play 4-3-3 but it looks like 4-4-2 is nailed on, which gives us a selection headache sometimes, but I'd just go all out. But I'd go with this - -------------Wilson-------------- ------------Joelinton------------ Almiron---Shelvey-Willock----ASM Ritchie--Schar---Lascelles--Manq ---------------Dubz------------------- ASM in front of Manq as Manq is more solid defensively than Ritchie. Amiron to help Ritchie on that left side, but we can always switch around. I think we can win this. Something tells me we'll win for some reason. Heart says 2-1. Wilson and Joelinton to score. Head says we'll probably play well and lose due to some defensive error but United look much more vulnerable than City or Liverpool. **** it 2-1 to the toon.
following on from the the most controversial week in Referee standards we have seen in years we have this idiot taking charge Referee: Craig Pawson YES he was the blind bastard in charge of VAR for the pen incident against Citeh Assistants: Ian Hussin, Darren Cann. Fourth official: Anthony Taylor. VAR: Peter Bankes. Yes the same Bastard that thought Maddison's dive was a Penalty against Leicester Assistant VAR: Timothy Wood. I hold no faith with these officials anymore Mike Riley needs to either explain or resign from his position as Head of the PGMOL there needs to be an enquiry into the funding and running of the the same organisation I know the Premier League put funds into the PGMOL Pot and I suspect it will not be without reciprocation
Is it true the club have made an official complaint about the standards of the refereeing in the last three games? I hope it’s true but there won’t be any outcome that benefits us. And I can’t believe these two wallies are in charge of this game.
It's been a huge talking point today all over the sports news. The referring has been absolutely dreadful. It's all caused by the confusion VAR causes, refs have stopped making decisions.
He'd probably do a pretty good job. He'd be caught out of position quite a bit defensively I reckon but he'd get the job done just through blood and guts.
It's a combination of PL corruption and PGMOL incompetence. Mike Riley needs to be ****ing binned off at the earliest opportunity. Either VAR is there to correct a wrong decision, or throw it in the ****ing sea. All this "obvious error" - how do you possibly quantify that? It just becomes opinions upon opinions and leaves it utterly open to interpretation and, thus, corruption or bias. Maddison - dive, no penalty. Fraser, collision in the box, penalty. Fraser, TAA challenge flicks the ball away, no penalty. Hayden, head collision, goal ruled out. These are ****ing simple decisions and for reasons unknown they're not being given. We're not the only victims - West Ham's decision the other day, the Kane red card, the Jota penalty. It's disgustingly bad. Either get it right ****ing immediately, or get rid of it for good.
For this match, it's about time Howe pulled his finger out and got us a point. They need to battle for this one, go 4-5-1 or 5-3-2 and see out a point. If he puts two in the middle I'm going to have a meltdown, just forewarning. Not even sure who's available for this one? Our first team players are so ****ing abysmal I'd sooner throw kids in. I get the feeling Howe is going to pick Clark and Ritchie again in a back four, Shelvey and Longstaff in a midfield two, and other utter abominations.
I think we'll he beat whatever he does because the leagues gone up levels and we've stood still. I think a covid sicky is our best option if not this game soon
I’m convinced they are doing it (the wrong decisions) for the PL product. A bit of pantomime. Throw in a few curve balls to get the adrenaline pumping. There is obvious bias for certain clubs and players. The Kane red which if it was any NUFC player would have been a red. But because it’s golden boy Kane. No red. The penalties against us and not given for us. You take the strips off and immediately the decisions would be different. You have to wonder if there is actual financial gain happening with these decisions.
I don’t think it matters who plays. They (manu) have had a 16 day rest ahead of the game. In that space of time we have played 3 games. How this is fair is beyond me. Add to the mix the referee and VAR officials and we are going to be playing against 12. There’s a bit of heat been thrown at the officials and quite rightly so and the focus will be on them so what Howe needs to do pre match is highlight the emphasis on making the right calls. If he doesn’t then I would be lost for words.
The big 6. I hate that. It was created by sky. It’s almost a product in itself. Everything is done to provide a marginal gain to them. Why is it that when officials get things blatantly wrong they don’t penalised?
