Cheers Chelsea. Do you have a good record of winners. Is it worth following you. I don't mean in a stalking way
Not based on yesterday! Overall though, when I've followed Chelsea's tips I've had a better than 50% success rate.
Only trouble with backing the favourite is the odds do you would need much more than a 50 pc strike rate to be in front.
Agreed on both counts. On average favourites only win a third of the time but if Chelsea can get the one that does than happy days. I'm assuming though that not all are favourites.
When i did horses you can back for a top finish on ladbrokes site so if an horse was 3-1 say i would get 10/11 or evens so i would have better chance of picking up.it's like an each way but they give you a set price for any position in the top 3 they also do 4 places on some races with set price.
Out of curiosity, what are posters motivations for having a bet? I just find it a fun way to pass the time as I enjoy numbers, rather than form, preferring long odds to short, as I need to hit fewer winners, and I generally only bet on events I'll be watching live, but some seem to be looking to make money, others want to beat the bookies, and I know others that get their 'buzz' from having money on the event, irrespective of the outcome. I've found the latter ones tend to be the addicts. So. what's your mojo?
I like doing football as i like football and i get 90 minutes run on it at least, plus i spent my money in past raising kids which was hard as i had 8 with my wife so expensive i could not always do a bet or things i wanted , but now they grown up and i don't do anything else and like to relax at computer and have mellow time watching the games with a cuppa, pure heaven.
So would you say your enjoyment is largely based on the additional 'thrill' (for the want of a word) of having an interest in a game you wouldn't otherwise give a toss about? EDIT: Just to be clear, I've no point to make with this, I'm simply curious.
Yes plus it gives me an interest i do my fiver a day which is cheap and i can afford that and the thrill keeps my heart ticking over so health wise it's helping me stay alive lol. So i do for medicinal purposes hahaha.
I do it to make money. I also accept you can have losing days. I have a betting bank do never ever dip into my own money. It's controlled. I only trade (or bet occasionally) on Betfair so for me it's not about beating the bookies. I trade tennis and only on matches that I can physically watch. I can walk away for a few days if needs be so I know I'm not addicted. There's been a few times when on a cruise that I could not get a signal and it's not bothered me apart from that I can't physically watch the game. Watching these games helps when it comes to the big tournaments so when everyone is saying who is that, where have they come from, I have been watching and studying them for in some cases 2 years. I admire the punters that know everything about horse racing but for me it's too complex and IMO is the most corrupt sport in the world. I'll gladly talk about it to anyone but to be honest I try to keep it to myself because the minute you say Betfair etc people automatically think you are addicted. Hope that helps
It's the bet when it's all over for me once it comes in there will be no more betting i will give it up, needless to say for only the reason if it came in i would probably have a heart attack.
