Not around yesterday to watch the game , I watched it this morning and normally will switch off as soon as the game ends to avoid the Sky bile , today I left it running and caught them interviewing Kane and spat out my porridge when they asked him if he should have been sent off for that tackle ..... do they ask Salah about his dives or City players about their tactics to stop a team break away , Klopp for his comments on field to the ref today

The important thing to take from yesterday is that Conte can get a performance out of just about anyone. We can contemplate resting Skipp every now and again, even if there are no midfield recruits in January, without getting torn to shreds, if we set up as a 3-5-2.

We don't want to be sending out that midfield on a regular basis, but we don't have to play the same XI until they drop, because Conte can find something in just about every member of the squad. That's really important, given our fixture congestion and Covid.

Now, if we only had someone to compete for a position up top...

Everyone bar the media favourites, regularly get terrible decisions against them. We as fans are used to it. (Not just Spurs fans.)
Every week an injustice goes against a team- just not 'them'...............................And when it does like yesterday, they can't handle it and they all go into meltdown.
Liverpool's first red card for ages. Are you telling me they haven't deserved any whereas everyone else does? they are an impeccable team if that is the case.
    Same idea at penited.

The problem is that after what Klopp and mates have said, no ref will want to hand them another 'injustice' and also Kane will be targeted.
It's how Fergie operated. Make the officials aware of how hard done by you are.
Guaranteed , they get a soft penalty in their next game.

Did anyone else think watching yesterday that Emerson did a very good impression of Serge?

    It was almost textbook -

Got into good positions - Tick
    Rubbish Crosses - Tick
    Bad judgement - Tick
Clumsy challenge in the box - Tick
Lost his man a few times - Tick

Not much of an upgrade (but still better than Doherty!!)

He’s been a weird one so far, had some blinding games and some poor ones.

Overall I quite like him, just think he needs to adjust better and get more comfortable in the side. New country, league and language, plus no pre-season with us so it was always gonna have some teething problems.

The only VAR intervention was to get Robbo sent off. So didn't actually change much. score stayed as it was previous to sending off.

VAR ain't the problem tbh. The standard of refereeing is.

But only causes outrage in certain situations.

This is spurs v Liverpool yesterday

Yellow card, free kick and outrage. Claims it was a leg breaker. The BBC match report mostly about the tackle.

This was Liverpool v Spurs last year.

No red card no yellow card and not even a free kick...just play on....no outrage in the media and NOTHING said about it on the BBC match report.

The double standards are what piss fans off. I got no issue saying it should have been a red but the media only give a **** if it suits them.

Robertson’s tackle (pictured above) was worse than Kane's as Tanganga's foot in planted on the ground yet Klopp and the media glossed over it . Klopp, I get but the media are a joke tbh.

But it's great watching the crying... drawing with a team who lost to Mura ... the shame of it <laugh>

Klopp also said this about a bunch of other refs. He's full of ****.

Tierney's refereed one Premier League loss for the Kopite ****e, ironically against the filth in a match they dominated.
He's refereed one Premier League win for us, mirroring the above, as we smashed Everton at Goodison in his first game.
We've failed to win in the 11 league games he's reffed since, plus 2 more in the cups.

One match in which every decision didn't go the way of the Anfield ****ers and it's a national tragedy.
Every ex-Liverpool player is out in force, all the rags are crying and MOTD are suddenly concerned about standards.
Funny that, as it doesn't seem to concern them when the shoe's on the other foot.

The THFC official line is :

VAR should be banned, except for when Spurs play away at Wastelands.

The thing with these pictures are, they are still
inages that don’t portray the actual tackle. The one of Kane, doesn’t actually show him catching Robertson for example. But it was full on, studs into the ankle which was already off the ground.

Bow the Robertson one on Tanganga. In that picture looks an absolute horror tackle that’s a straight red. And if he was red carded maybe couldn’t have complaints, in this day an age surprised wasn’t a yellow. However, your picture doesn’t actual shoe the context.

1, Robertson actually won the ball. He got there first and flicked it away. Now in this day an age, doesn’t seem to matter (see coufal last week) but that’s a separate issue with how **** the game is now compared to when you were allowed to tackle.

He then makes contact as your picture shows, however what it doesn’t show is at that point of contact his leg bends means that it’s not the whole weight of his body going through. They actually end up buckling and more just colliding than going straight legged full force into his shin. Now should he be sent off? Maybe.. but using that picture to prove your point isn’t accurate. It’s the same way refs shouldn’t be allowed to see still frame or slow motion replays of red card tackles as they give a totally different picture of what actually happened.

What ever anyone thinks about things, I think all fans are in agreement that the use of VAR has been atrocious and the excuses they use after the games to try and justify their decision are horrible. Kane wasn’t sent off because Robbo’s foot was off the ground <doh>. It wasn’t s penalty because Jota stopped (which wasn’t even accurate) <doh>. Newcastle wasn’t s pen because Canceo came away with the ball… ignoring fact Ederson took player out off the ball.

They need a review into referees and actually get clarification on how to use var. Get away with this clear and obvious bullshit. If the decision is wrong, it’s wrong. It can’t be oh it’s wrong but maybe if you look from this angle and squint then you can sort of see why he maybe gave that decision so I won’t get them to review it again
