Cost us the game vs Norwich and things were going fine until he decided to leave that header FFS. Why the hell would Eddie consider playing him over Schar? What the **** does he offer over anyone else?
Give us three….. you can’t expect to get away with that level of eggheadery and not follow up with examples that show the rest of the lads what you mean (obviously I know EXACTLY what you mean; I’m thinking about les autres)
I can agree, at a high level. But we are in a situation where hard decisions ought to be made by that nice Mr Howe. we can’t afford to keep playing anyone that looks as though they’ve slipped in to “error prone”, and a judgment has to be quick because every single game should have the objective of “don’t cause our own downfall” - we may lose, but let’s lose because we are simply outplayed and outrun rather than because incredibly poor decisions are made by individuals. I’m starting to warm to a view that the squad have been ‘Brashleyed’ over the last couple of years and that’s why there’s less and less of a tune we can get from these players. Eddie’s not brought a results bounce, but he has brought an ‘effort bounce’ - trouble is the players are psychologically adjusted to struggling. my theory is that big Joelinton has bucked that trend because he spent 2 years being the target of despair by fans - and he probably thought ‘what have I done wrong?! These other ****s are getting away with ****, why am I the baddie’ - so he felt like an outsider and didn’t internally give up - he therefore came back stronger under Eddie …. the rest of them just spent the years thinking “well the owner isn’t investing, I’d probably play better with some quality around me, not my fault at all if Ashley’s happy to see us go down, anyway look at that big lump of a Brazilian, everyone says he’s ****, noone’s saying I’m ****, I must be playing well…. we can’t compete though’ that was a ramble, but I think this squad’s psychology is ****ed. Roll on January
FS. Squad psychologically shot - it’s got too much for some players now (eg Clark) This is not the time to nurture the dead by continuing to select them Joelinton felt an outsider so kept his mojo
