One of the most dubious decisions I've ever seen. I don't understand how they can deem that non-handball but Reece James at Anfield (which bounced off his thigh first) was.

The fact it was by a visiting player at Anfield means the decision will only go in favour of Liverpool.

I read somewhere that if a handball was involved in the build up to a goal it was classed as a foul and no goal.
Perhaps they change the rules at certain times to keep us guessing.

City also found this out when Milner should have seen red when they went there. Never mind Newcastle midweek when their player went down with a head injury but play was waved on and then at the other end a stonewaller with no VAR review - teams just won't get decisions there or at Old Trafford.

We can agree one club certainly was lucky to get a point, anyway.

It was a handball by the rules, but it occurred long enough before the goal that it wasn't reviewed by VAR. The handball/trap forced a save from Lloris, which left him out of position for the goal.

Robertson was the first outfield Liverpool player to be sent off in almost 3 years, the last one being James Milner against Palace in Jan 2019.

The ref was awful, but we saw the benefit of much of the awfulness. Kane should have been off and they had a stonewall penalty.

Great wasn't it, can't think of a team I would rather have it happen against, we have had not had the rub of the green against them for years.

But in all honesty (and I say this through gritted teeth), I have some sympathy with Klopp, we would have been rightly annoyed if the boot was on the other foot. Tierney is a an awful ref.

The state of that. "Giving them the chance to make the decision" - he's lucky the Police don't want to talk to him about assault. You'd hope the ref couldn't see it for VAR to have to make the decision. I don't think Kane's foul was a deliberate attempt to injure (still a red in my book though) whereas Robertson's was assault.

Yesterday was really heartening. For the first time in what seems like a very long time, we have a coach who is able to identify what individuals are capable of and what they're not...and will set them up to get the best out of what he has available to him. Switching to 3-5-2 was essential yesterday and it worked really well.

The starting line up included Winks and Dele for the first time since the Crystal Palace debacle. To make matters worse, there was no sign of Skipp or Hojbjerg. They were to play alongside Ndombele, in front of a back three of Sanchez, Dier and Davies with Sessegnon and Emerson Royal as wing backs. I considered settling in behind the sofa and I'll bet that I wasn't alone.

The reality was quite different. What had looked like an imminent car crash, turned out to be an effective line up, that coped with a lack of possession in the first half, whilst creating a number of really good chances. The second half saw us have more of the ball and come back from being behind. Players who had shown no form for 2 seasons and more, were integrated into a team that competed, created numerous opportunities and got a result. Had Sonny and Kane produced anything like their best form, we'd have won that game.

I'm not sure whether Winks, Dele, Ndombele and the like have any significant future at the club. Conte might want them to stay or he may want them out asap, I don't know. I do know that he expects them to perform to their best, if and when he picks them. Yesterday, it looked like they are willing to give him that and that he will play them in roles that suit their talents, unlike his predecessors

Dele and Winks were unrecognisable as the players who had given far less in the last days of Poch, Mourinho, Mason and Nuno. Sessegnon finally looked like the talent that we thought that we'd landed in 2019. Conte is a coach who is known to be able to assess players extremely well and fit their skill set to a function in a line up and motivate them to give him their all.

I'm still not sure why he's here, maybe it's living in London...or to challenge himself...or the massive wage that we're paying him. I really don't care. He's a top coach and man manager, who will extract the best out of everyone at the club (not just the players)and improve us immeasurably. ENIC need to back this bloke with everything that they can and they might just find themselves with a success on their hands

    It is time to Dare...

Salah went AWOL yesterday, and not due to busparquet
    or bullying defence.

Which makes me ponder which Poool MF were missing
yesterday that nullifies him, as all the usual suspect
RBs and attackers were playing alongside him.

I've no sympathy for Klopp. We've been on the receiving end of far more of those decisions than he'll ever be. Did Klopp slate Robertson and the official for this?...

He didn't. Liverpool have their fair share of players who endanger opponents on a regular basis. Klopp has no issue with Mane or Robertson's regular transgressions.

The current PL officials are a disgraceful group of incompetents. Most matches feature at least one appalling error, compounded by VAR turning a blind eye. The clubs at the top of the table get away with more than those at the bottom and coaches like Guardiola and Klopp whine about the slightest thing that goes against them.

Yesterday, we got the rub of the green. It was a penalty and Kane's tackle was almost certainly a red card. Whilst I don't condone incompetence, I'm no fan of hypocrisy either...and Klopp's a ****ing hypocrite in calling out yesterday's incompetence, because it went against his team, for once.
