Tyson Fury wants no part of it because folk wanted him removed years ago for his homophobic and sexist comments. So **** him on account of holding such views, and also being such a big baby when people called him out. I think Emma Raducanu should win it. She epitomises what the award was originally about. Sporting achievements mixed with having a great personality that people gravitate too. She single handedly made people take interest in tennis over the summer. Raheem Sterling? Really? He's a knob. Cracking footballer who has been superb in the last 12 months and proved all the doubters wrong (including myself) in the Euros when he really stepped up. But fails completely on the personality bit. Peaty or Raducanu for me. Great personalities, do loads away from their sport, and have excelled at the very highest level.
Epitomises what the award should be about. Sometimes being able to ride a horse while wearing a tiara seems to be enough!!
To be honest they need to rename it. I think people laugh because it’s called ‘personality’ but has zero to do with your actual personality. Change the name to Sporting achievement of the year award or something along those lines and then it makes more sense.
Jamal Lascelles Most fists bumped I think its really impressive he is a prem player despite being a mental handicap
Good night for the ladies with Emma Raducanu winning Sports Personality etc and Rachel Blackmore winning the overseas award, proper order
Mick I don’t think either one reads this forum. That approach sadly isn’t going to get you a date with either one.
I might see Rachel from a distance at the races over Christmas (if they let crowds in),will wave at her.
Right calls all round on the awards. Pleased for Raducanu. Single handedly made Wimbledon watchable. Blackmore, it would have been a disgrace for it to go elsewhere.
