I don't doubt that more restrictions are coming, but all the local rags are full of ****e and are the last source I'd trust, even below the national rags
The HDM now have a reporter Baz who has been on the ball regarding City in the past month. A big mistake to disregard a news story only because of where it was published. I agree that local rags are often full of **** stories
Don't mind their sport stuff tbf as it's the only detailed source of city news and views (outside here of course).
You’re right about it being the same recirculated ****e everywhere though Anything that brings in clicks which seems to be Reach’s business plan
The group obviously uses a template, which is completed locally. I've noticed 'stories' such as 'The hardest pubs in Hull in the 90' are used simultaneously in Middlesborough, and probably every paper in the group.
I've seen some where they state Hull is the worst area for an issue, and found the self and same claims, with only the place name changed in many of their other publications, even when aspects of the claim couldn't fit, as they didn't apply in all cases. I've known the BBC to run similar stories that they know without doubt are not true. I don't think there are many actual journalists in existence any more, they're simply click bait generators for advertising revenue.
There are actual journalists still, but they don’t work there (or the ones that do aren’t allowed to journ very much)
CDC panel on Thursday recommended Pfizer and Moderna over J&J shots J&J jab has rare but serious side effects and appears to be less effective Until now, all three shots have been treated equally by US authorities The J&J one-shot vaccine was temporarily hauled off the market in April It was then put back into circulation - 16million people have received it Among them, it has a confirmed link to the deaths of nine people J&J will still be available but the CDC is saying Pfizer or Moderna are preferable The company's shares dove by 2.8 percent on Friday after the announcement J&J insists that it is still 'fully confident' in its vaccine and is collecting more data Scientists have also suggested J&J's vaccine doesn't work against Omicron A booster is recommended within two months of J&J's vaccine rather than six months, which is recommended for Pfizer and Moderna
Spot of light reading SAGE modelling https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...sensus-statement-on-covid-19-15-december-2021
Peak: 600 to 6,000 deaths per day. That's a pretty big margin they've given themselves there and it's the worst case scenario that people always focus on. That said I'm glad it's not me making these calls.
No idea whether the predictions are right of course, but if it was the lower end at 600 people a day then then is still far more people than die of cancer in the UK every year which is (405 a day)
