Poor bowling from Woakes and Robinson brings a flurry of fours and relieves any pressure. Robinson looks completely snagged out just like in the 2nd innings of the first test, and needs to work on his endurance levels. Woakes just looks totally ineffective, completely different bowler outside of England !
Aus declare, England need a world record chase of 468 in 144 overs. What's the worst that can happen? Game on
Who is the complete tool presenter in the BT studio? Christ he's poor. Should be at least 3 down by the close.
Smith was out lbw for sure. You guys have bowled a fuller ball and it has paid off. I said this all along you were bowling too short.
Good to see Burns get a start and score some runs. I don't like seeing any batsman newbie to the Ashes scene, take a hiding. Hope he scores at least 20 or so runs but don't make me wish ill thoughts on him.
Why isn't Root and the bowling coach telling them to bowl a fuller length ? Awful from both and both need replacing along with the rest of the management. The analyst should be shot whoever it is
Things are going ballistic here at present. We’ve gone from zero cases throughout most of Oz, to blowouts left, right & centre. l think people here in general are concerned about the new Covid variant, throw in Xmas and everything is a ballsup.
They all started off bowling a good length and we’re getting results but as you say, it all fell away.
Woakes has bowled poorly in every innings so far and Robinson looks to have problems with his energy levels come the 2nd innings. We've monumentally ****ed up basic decisions i, batting first in 1st test , not selecting Broad and Anderson on that wicket, picking Leach, leaving Wood out of this test, not selecting an actual keeper, the list is ****ing endless. For me you've got a coach who is obviously not up to test level, a bowling coach who I can't actually believe they ever appointed and a batting coach, who although was a great batsman isn't nearly as good at improving lesser players techniques. Root is far too passive as a captain, and I can't understand half the bowling and fielding decisions he makes. I've rarely seen a flatter side than we currently look in the field, there's no sign of any life in them. This will almost certainly end up 5-0, barring weather or someone having a miracle for us. After this series something has to change or it will be like this for the foreseeable future unfortunately
