Wow, that's controversial from Mike Dean. Newcastle player down with head injury, play on and leads to a goal.
I was just about to say that it looks like being “one of those nights” for Liverpool and then they score.
Couldn’t see a clash of heads and it looked like the player, after treatment, was rubbing his neck/shoulder. I think there has been an increase in the number of times teams break up attacks by exaggerating/faking head injuries 2-1
Nah, Liverpool are of no consequence to Saints, Newcastle are. So Liverpool to win please and the bigger the margin the better. If we weren’t flirting with the relegation zone and in the mix then sure, the more teams that beat Liverpool the better because that’s always fun.
"Yes, of course (it is frustrating) to give away another lead. If we see the effort we bring in a match like this, the effort we need to score one goal and the effort the opponent needs to score an equaliser - it is hard to swallow. "We missed big chances to get the result in the first half and second half we did not find the rhythm consistently and tried to bring on some energy from the bench, but it was hard. We had the lead and give it away with one free-kick." You might think this is from Ralph after the Brighton game, (or any other) but no it's Thomas Tuchel speaking after Chelsea had given up a 1-0 lead to draw at home to Everton (also from a freekick). Although they may have a mere 20 points more than us, it's nice to know we have something in common. And for lending us Broja we've been able to give them something of ours in return.
Similar with Brighton. No win in 12. Despite all the waxing lyrical they are 3 points ahead of us and most will acknowledge were extremely fortunate to draw against us and in the game immediately before I wonder if their fans say the same about potter ? No instead not long ago I was seeing football sites argue that he was sensible for apparently rejecting spurs The comment for them is that if they sign someone who can put the ball in the net reliably then they would be away. And they have far more resources to try and fix that than we do. But it is still no guarantee And if that is an acceptable excuse then it would be one for us as well surely? If we have better goal scoring options then we convert more of our chances and get wins against Brighton , Leicester and Norwich. 7 more points and likely a more positive goal difference from both these and more goals from our periods on top against Villa, Watford and Leeds That would put us in 8th and potentially even in line with Wolves’ goal difference up there Yet we are awful and terrible and Brighton and Potter are amazing and just need a striker. Or something like that
I get your point but a large majority of BHA fans are very angry & po with their recent fall. You can paint it how you want but our win ratio, points lost from winning positions over whatever period you want to look at, is, being very generous, terrible. Anyway, on a positive note, a week off (maybe longer) for RH to “fine tune” & hopefully get a couple of injured players back. Of course, that will apply to most teams as well. Gonna be an interesting 2nd half of the season!
I wasn’t trying to spin our side positively. But more applying some perspective. It isn’t just us. And as long as it isn’t just …
Quite outrageous really - they called it off two hours before Surely they knew they had loads of cases? Didn’t Villa already cancel one for this reason
