Being serious, I wouldn't want Pearson back now, but I do wish we'd never got rid of him.

We didn't play great football a lot of the time (and I doubt he's doing that at Hull) but towards the end of the play-off season we weren't bad to watch at all. In fact we won a couple of home games 4-0 and 4-1, and the play-off second leg we were tremendous in one of the best matches I have ever seen.

He got the balance between a solid defence and an effective way of scoring goals, whereas Sven has overcompensated for our terrible defending last season by being very negative this. We also showed team spirit under Nigel but I see little of it now. We were giving 100% in every game and tbh, the atmosphere of the whole club was great that season, and even before the season started under Sousa, it was frighteningly noticeable how that feeling dropped to negativity.

We probably need to stick with Sven until the end of the season in the hope that we get in the play-offs, but I'm not confident. And who we replace him with is another worry.

If he was still with you and had the same financial backing as Eriksson, do you think he'd be more or less likely than Sven to win promotion this season?

We're an honest set of fans. We're not going to lie about it. What would that achieve when every set of fans will get to see us at some point in the season for themselves?

I have no problems with Sven; think he is a good football manager, but don’t think LC is the right club for him, I also think he will look for an exit strategy to keep his CV reading OK. Not this term since all his spending demands seem to have been met. Maybe next season he can have a “falling out” when the fans and main shareholder gets on his back.

On balance we are happy with Nigel thus

    Advantages
Balanced squad builder (attack, holding, defence)
Good judgement of a player (no always though)
Does not demand big wads of cash
    Does not panic
    Buys for the future
Finally got the balance right selecting the midfield
    Does not suffer fools
Has substitute players available for most positions

    Disadvantages
    Apparently a boring interviewee
    Flat top haircut

    Less.

Sven's contacts are incredible, I doubt that Leicester would be able to get the high quality players to sign like we have done (Mills, Beckford, Yakubu, Kamara, Naughton ect) with Nigel.

Although given the same squads I would probably say Pearson because Sven doesn't know this league.

I understand the point about Sven being a 'man-in-the-know' and having plenty of contacts across the football, but if Pearson was manager would that not be offset by his ability to actually create a team?

Have you not seen our squad?

I think Sven would do better with the money, the squad we have now is incredible for this division.

I know the squad is incredible for the division, I didn't say otherwise. I'm asking if Pearson would be more capable of creating a coherent team, instead of a squad of good individuals.

It's hard to say because Pearson hasn't been given that amount of money to spend at any point in his career. Some managers are very good at getting a cheaper squad to perform to their maximum, but haven't got a great eye for a player when they've got loads to spend. In addition, Nigel is never one for egos and wouldn't be able to put up with many players in our squad at the moment. His biggest error was getting rid of Gradel, who's now gone onto very good things, supposedly for that very reason.

At the end of the day, we're all well aware, that having money is an advantage but means nothing if you haven't got the right manager. Pearson was the right manager at the time and we did well, it seems Sven isn't. I'd rather have a great manager than a poor one no matter how much money we've got.

Yeah, but thats what I said.

If the managers were given the same squads then Nigel would do better IMO (in this division)

But I think that our 'incoherent' squad would do better than a 'coherent' squad put together by Nigel due to the quality in the side.

He´s a top manager & one day will manage a top team. I´m still very sad that he left & our lost is Hulls gain. Still once SGE has gone we may tempt a top man in or maybr God O´Neill´s return :emoticon-0100-smile

A lot of people have that problem. I like to think the issues they have understanding me is part of the reason I am so hated, but then I remember how much of a prick I am.

No, man - be straight. If I'm understanding you, you're asking him if he thinks NP could put together a better team out of their players. As opposed to Sven assembling a squad of individuals.

    AKCJ doesn't seem to understand.....:emoticon-0114-dull:

Don't flatter yourself geek, apparently there is an ignore function for attentions seekers and racists on here I have been told so last time I read your nonsense, as for the thread like I mentioned before Hull will finish above Leicester and the fact Leicester have spent so much money for that will prove the worth of Pearson, much more so than Sven.
