Stokes, whilst looking completely out of touch, unfit and like he's carrying an injury, is at least putting a high value on his wicket. Overall, take Malan and Root out and we look dreadful.
And they said that England Women v Latvia Women was one sided…….. …..Everyday I look at the score with a sense of foreboding.
One of the Aussie commentators casually just mentioned that England have dropped 11 catches in the series already. 11!!!! 8 down now. This is beginning to look like so many previous tours. Abject in performance and decision making. Stokes can't even attack because he looks so unfit.
We are complete crap. The Aussies are a half decent side but none of them would have got into their great teams of the 90s and Noughties, it’s not as if we are being smashed by all time greats. It’s this kind of mismatch which will spell the end for Test cricket.
Yep. When you consider England are one of the top one day sides and reigning 50 over world champions, it doesn't take a genius to work out what has been prioritised. However, we nearly always seem to have scrambled eggs for brains as soon as we arrive in Australia. Wrong decisions. Wrong selections. Surrender our wickets cheaply. Drop catches. Field like novices. Stokes clearly wasn't going to be match fit, yet we put pressure on him to bowl by leaving Wood out. Now he can barely walk! Just one example out of so many of our muddled thinking. As you say, Australia aren't a great team. Good, but not great. As usual, we could have competed so much better.
Australia couldn't really go wrong whatever they decided about the follow on. Probably don't want to bowl in the heat tomorrow, although they'd probably have had us 20-3 or something. Either way, we're ****ed.
Have to bowl them out for 150 to have a chance and even then it's a slim chance.... need 3 or 4 wickets in these remaining 17 overs tonight....
