Great band Therapy? Seen them in '98 ish at Newcastle Riverside. Think they're touring again next year.
He sure did that night! Of all the amazing bands I saw that weekend, and the list was absurd.... Oasis, primal scream, stereophonics, gomez, beck, foo fighters, placebo etc etc they really knocked me back with their all round show, twas amazing
I have tickets for Nightwish at Wembley. Was Dec 2020, then May 2020, then earlier this week now November 2022. Floor Jansen is - my opinion - the best singer I have ever heard. Saw them on their two previous London concerts, I've seen Maiden many times, Newcastle Mayfair in 1980 to the O2 in 2018. Mylene Farmer, I just happened to be at a conference in France in 2013 and was given a ticket for the gig. She's not well known in the UK.
Mine was a freebie from an ex girlfriend I was still friendly with. She was going to go with a friend of hers who cancelled at the last minute so she had a spare ticket. I wasn't that keen on him but seeing him changed my mind he was fantastic. As an aside, the gig was in a forest and I walked to the tree line for a piss and fell down a bloody great hole. Very amusing for everyone except me.
The one I watched was in Antwerp (I think) the Belgians are a funny lot. He finished the set, went off stage to get everyone built up for an encore, and when he came out again, about half the Belgians had already gone back to their coaches.
Spent a morning in Bruge - very nice. Had a club sandwich and a beer from a bar (waiter spoke perfect English) whilst the rest of the bus queued for an extremely expensive Pizza Hut.
No video for this, maybe not the best live band I've seen but certainly the biggest band I'd seen at that time so it was memorable.
I saw Simple Minds at Wembley Stadium, and they were indeed excellent. However their support was Texas, who were even better that day, top draw live performance.
v97 Leeds, stopped gig mid breathe to get the crowd to go back then started it again. it was excellent we all went mental. always loved their groove and energy holy bible era, excellent
not a big fan of these, but saw them live once and was really impressed. it's nice to have someone surprise you, and when you leave you have a greater respect for them. im still not the biggest fan but a great gig coz it changed my mind about a band for the better.
Done a couple of good 'uns now it's time for a **** 'un - Roxy Music (with Eno); somewhere **** in Yorkshire (Huddersfield mebbe) with my ex wife who was into Brian Ferry - terrible night but me ex loved it, I did get some reward for that when we got home
