Friday night before the game and no one has mentioned it yet, so I thought might as well. Anyone going ? Anyone interested ? Have we all got our NHS passports to allow us into the game ? Mine hasn't arrived yet and I'll be in a pub in Nottingham if it finally does arrive in tomorrows post, usually about tea time at my house, which will be of no use to me so I will have to blag it. Difficult game at the City Ground where we have done remarkably well recently, against a team showing a bit of form under Steve Cooper. Big question is who will McCann play up front ? Does he persist with Wilkes and Magennis or will Tyler Smith, who scored two in mid week for the Under 23's get a chance with Tom Eaves who looked sharp when he came on last week against Bristol City ? Big game for both teams. A draw wouldn't be the end of the world for City, but it would be a lovely early Christmas present if we could nick all three points. Then having said that the game could be called off in the morning if the lateral flow tests show positive ?
Im in Nottingham now!!!! Were having a great night out.....booked nice hotel till Sunday!!!! Good feeling about tomorrow 2-0 city.....c'mon lads you know you can do it!!!
We'll smash the feckers, but some will still complain. Couldn't you get the covid passport on your phone?
Game tomorrow, a good number of tickets sold, a takeover, hopefully, near completion. And have a look at the link to our esteemed local paper. No mention on the main page of either. The main sporting story is transfers involving Brisbane Broncos and Wigan. Scroll down and the next sporti g story is about Superleague's all time top try scores. Scroll further and there are more stories involving rugby league. None about City. You couldn't blame our prospective new owner for wondering what sort of place he is getting involved in. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/
I usually agree with you 100% on all this, but tbf it doesn't like it's actually the case this time. A few City related stories there. Hopefully post take over we have owners and executives who know the importance of building great relationships with the local media and put that knowledge quickly into action.
I last bought the paper edition of the HDM before a lot of people on here were born. Anyone, and that includes people from outside the area who only read the HDM online, who goes 9nto the web page and scrolls down only sees rugby league stuff most days. The number buying the paper edition is very small.
Why is the main page full of rugby league stories and nothing about the team that actually has a game tomorrow? There are pagefuls of rugby league stuff on the sports pages as well. The supine behaviour of people accepting it will never get it changed.
Why have loads of stuff about rugby, a lot of it nothing to with Hull, every day on the main page? Why not a daily round up of the much more popular, widely watched sport of football, stuff about transfers of players in other countries? Why not restrict the rugby stories to sports pages?
Mainly cos the rugby clubs actually talk to the local media as opposed to begrudgingly giving humberside (as long as its not their main city presenter) the absolute bare minimum?
The first story this week has featured stories about players being transferred between Australian teams, stories about Wigan and St Helens and even Catalan Dragons squad numbers. Is that because all those clubs talk to the HDM then? The HDM and RH have promoted the rugby clubs more than City for decades before the Allams had anything to do with City.
