NP was offered 12 million last year but declined apparantly as he said and i quote i can not get better than what i already have. I will not not bring in players unless it is to better the team-So kept his powder dry for the upcoming windows. Bet he wished he took up the offer-this came from a players father i now.
.... and yet there were some people saying that NP had no money available, because LJ/MA had spent it all! Well I never!
Then he needs a kick in the bollocks then. If he had 12 million and could not find players better than what we’ve got, he must be looking at the mem for players. Or perhaps it’s you just talking bollocks yet again.
A word on Tony Watt The Motherwell striker was linked with City earlier today however, as we understand, the club hold no interest in the Scottish forward. Kind of as expected, really. Via Bristol Post.
I highly doubt it was £12m in the current climate, but, he DID choose not to take money that was made available for a striker, saying he was happy with what he had. Big mistake!! Maybe he didn't want to be in the same position as Steve Cotterill who had big money made available to him, but couldn't convince players to join?
We did have enough warnings about not signing a striker and our financial plight explained to us back in the summer, it's got to be a must for January surely. It comes down to how he prioritised. He chose to spend £1.5m on a new CB over a CF. NP must have assessed that was the greater need at that time. His crime is spunking £15k a week in signing Simpson, if that had been a previous manager, the outcry on here would be deafening, as it was for Diony et al!
Awww bless, But hey it's strange, LJ (even though not universally popular) doing well at Sunderland, but his former CEO/DOF/SL's favourite son is doing a sterling job at Ipswich, Palmer would undoubtedly find his level there. Maybe SL did LJ a favour in sacking him?
Again you spout something as fact on what evidence? Between Ashton and LJ they had also agreed a 8/9mil fee for Diony and remember he was signed to push for promotion along with Kent and Walsh, 2 or 3 wins in the last 23 games was it?
Well SL has to prove if he is truly committed to help keeping us in the championship. So he will have to find it.
Taylor Moore open to Hearts permanent transfer as he awaits Bristol City decision Moore has enjoyed starring for the Jambos and playing alongside the league's "best" defender John Souttar https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/...p/taylor-moore-open-hearts-permanent-22483960
The same evidence that people on here say LJ signed Palmer on £20 a week. It came from the same source. You can't pick and choose your arguments and points, or I'll start calling you RP. A fee was agreed with Diony prior to the loan (standard practice, FYI), but as he was absolute dog toffee it was never paid, so a totally moot point
As usual you are arguing with the wrong person, my stance is and always will be IF Palmer is on that wage that is outrageous and WILL say the same about Simpson a well. Call me what you want, my stance has alway been the same, unlike others. To be honest I cannot think of 1 player worth 15k per week on our books. The Diony point is hardly moot, it shows (as if we needed anymore evidence) the total and utter lack of due diligence, planning or structure to our then transfer policy, it is why we find ourselves having to once more cut the wage bill having already cut it by one third by getting rid of alleged high earners who were/are sucking the life blood out our club and giving nothing back. A policy that even Ipswich fans are now realising is shocking. Thankfully we are close to the end of our particular nightmare. PS:- you cannot have it both ways, I don't know who signed Palmer, I thought the popular view was that it was Ashton?
I don't know what you're complaining about Supcon - I think £20 per week is an absolute bargain for a championship player - even one that hardly features. I think we should try and extend KPs services..... fair play to Ashton getting him to sign on that wage!!!
In other news Ashton has got a new bitch. And he's a managerial virgin. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59686994
