Is it obvious to anyone that since United lost Tom Cleverley to injury, United's gameplay has slowly declined leading to the complete shutdown today?

I'm surprised that no one has actually noted this simple fact. United lack a midfielder with footballing brain and Cleverley fitted that bill in the games he played this season.

Today's 1-6 humiliation will serve United good, I think! It's best to get these horrible results out of the way early in the season rather than at the turn of the year. City have been great but it is still too early to suggest which team would be crowned Champions.

Yes, I like Cleverly and I think he links midfield and attack really well. But I think in the big games he'd need 2 behind him, Anderson and either Giggs or Park.

Utds back four has chopped and changed due to injuries throughout the season as has CM though not to the same degree. Defeat against a good city side not totally a shock though the score line is.

Good point! I think Giggs would have been great today as well because of the creativity he would have added. There was distinct lack of that today and the thrashing is not overly surprising with 10 men and average center midfield.

I definitely agree with this as well. Are we even near a resolved back-line any time soon?
